I guess you didn't read my comment about the magnetism, huh? Melting iron does make not attract magnets... it would only make it stop acting like a magnet if it had been magnetized. (I'll leave this comment nice and short, I went on for about two pages with the other one lol)

Being a woman who's a bit mad for copper and brassy goodness I wasn't sure I was going to like them but oh my goodness I absolutely LOVE them!! The colour is stunning!! So yes please, more more more please! The iron was a bit spitty in the crucible, reminded me of a sparkler. Good luck with the patio😄

It IS a sparkler! They make a kind of clay-like stuff with iron powder and aluminum to make a slow burning thermite on a stick. The spitting in the crucible is the iron reacting with impurities to basically do the same thing. @bigstackD if you could get hold of a bit of Titanium powder...

I really do love the look of cast iron... that dark shiny look is so different than the rest of the metals.... yea, more Cast Iron melts :) - Oh and I LOVE when it starts spittin out those sparks everywhere!!! - Maybe you could show us that AT NIGHT!!!! (do those parks come from the slag?? because that's what it looked it... you see that when you melt steel, so maybe it has something to do with carbon in the slag?? or maybe it doesn't come from the slag at all 🤷‍♂) GREAT VID THO!!! I love the shorter videos, I can always enjoy them and think that 10 minutes actually gives you more space for editing creativity, and hour+ long videos can get quite redundant.

OMG! A Tuesday morning video! What a special treat! Please do more of them! I use Renaissance Micro-Crystalline Wax for all my bare metals.(copper, brass, nickel plating, etc.) Keeps corrosive oxygen out, prevents tarnish (or rust). Car wax would also work. Of course your clear coat is a more permanent solution but on antique lanterns and such, not as desirable. Wow! The front of your workshop is so tidy!

The cast iron was a nice change of pace. I still prefer copper, brass and aluminum but having others every once in a while keeps things from getting samey. Excellent work as always. Love the old timey music.
