Yeah the sausage is really versatile when I was a kid my mom would make a pot of beans with ham hocks, and brown the sausage in the cast-iron pan my dad liked it a little crispy, and he wanted his bacon cooked so done that if you dropped it in the play it would shatter into 1 million pieces. I never liked bacon when I was a kid. I didn’t start liking it until I was old enough to cook my own bacon ha ha!*

Since I’m home alone all day I’ve messed up my sleep schedule and I don’t eat much in the day, but your method of cooking kielbasa as made me cook all sausages like that now (I don’t know it that’s good). Yesss...kielbasa is my top three sausage. (Although I prefer beef) You literally can’t screw it up...play with cooking techniques. Grilled or smoked is great...if you want to cut the grease, boil in beer and onions before you sear. Perfect meat to experiment with, cuz you’ll never be disappointed

Cast Iron Cooking...I just made the best Kielbasa today. Cooked on low with beer, onions, and thyme, butter, and a little water to run low for 45 mins. Drained fluid and seared for five mins. Best kielbasa I’ve ever made.

I got a kielbasa in my freezer. Been there a while. Better get my cast iron skillet out and cook it up!! I love chorizo! Ever make migas? Good stuff.

*I love it as well! Plenty of it around living in a border state.I made a video on chorizo and eggs years ago and it didn’t do very well. I deleted it with 60 other videos that I did not like. Check out the kielbasa playlist at the end of the video. The easiest one I have on there is kielbasa potatoes and onions but you just throw it in the oven. I have many playlists and tons of recipes on my channel if you have subscribed already thank you so much I appreciate you! If you have any stainless steel pans around that the food sticks to I have a stainless steel pan seasoning playlist as well.*

@@CastIronCooking I did kielbasa,canned taters and frozen brussel sprouts. Put parm on it. Cooked in one of my Cuisinart skillets I found at Goodwill!!! Yummy it was. I think I'll binge watch all your videos. Wish you hadn't taken the chorizo one off.

*Kiolbassa Provision Co Beef Smoked Sausage is what I use now cost a little more but it’s worth it. I no longer use Hillshire Farm. They put too many preservatives and crap in it. The good brand of the old days have gone to shit.*

Please let us know where you get your kielbasa, including the variety (if you have choices). I found out that there are several varieties of kielbasa, and now that I live in California, I can't find the one I grew up with. Having had only that one kind, I'm not an expert: All I know is that (1) it had the dark red skin like yours in this video, and (2) it's really hard to find, and (3) I really, really want that kind. I would love if you could help.

I’m on a new keto diet so I bought some Keilbasa and watched this video but the chef said it was heavy and he doesn’t eat it, only gives it away so I’m not eating mine :( I thought it wouldn’t make me gain weight cause it’s free of carbs and keto but I’m scared of it now.

i dont put anything in the pan, sausage and that's it. no water no oil. the sausage has fat in it as it is. gives it a nice char on the outside as well, like if you grilled it.

*It really does. I try not to burn it like I had to eat it growing up because my dad liked it. It is really salty because any processed meat has a ton of salt in it.
