For all those Kool-aid drinkers who think its the Airports fault or who think its some kind DEI mess or "where are the guys that guide the plane?" : Grnd controllers have ALOT to do at major airports. Once given instructions they briefly ck back to see if aircraft are where they should be on taxiways and runways. Ramp crews do not guide the aircraft once it leaves the gate area. There are many aircraft simply parked at gates awaiting their next flight time ( which could be hours) crew / cleaning, simple maintenance etc. Ground personnel are not required to be there until the aircraft is nearing a departure time. Ramp personnel are either at another gate loading / unloading flight baggage, cargo, moving tugs and bag carts etc. If a pilot steers his plane too close to another plane for a few seconds a Grnd controller will not catch that unless they happen to be looking right at them. A majority of major Airports have ASDE-X Ground tracking,. Many large and small regional airports do not. This incident is totally on the JAL pilots for not keeping correct clearance to other aircraft.
@zegamerz19804 күн бұрын
Major aiports have SMR aka Surface Movement Radar to track the position of planes on the ground at the airport with a 7m accuracy. Precise enough to see when a plane deviates or is going too close to a parked plane. If there is no-one to monitor it though....

@nhlpa173 күн бұрын
@@optimus163 please stop talking about things that you are absurdly ignorant to. Yes, airline pilots can absolutely request ground crew, specifically an "aircraft marshaller," to guide them on the ground, especially in situations where visibility is low, the taxiway is complex, or when maneuvering in tight spaces at an airport; they would typically communicate this request through the airport's ground control frequency on the radio. It happens ALL the time.

US airports are old, dilapidated, obsolete, undersized and unfit to serve jumbo sized airliners. In comparison China’s international airports are massive, spacious, modern, and high tech designed and constructed to serve jumbo jets like the 747, A380. American infrastructure is pathetic, dangerous, and frightening

Targeting DEI as a whole was a mistake, DEI has been around since the 70's, did you even notice DEI before modern times when they corrupted it and added things like sexuality to the list? Some really good, qualified and hard working people lost their jobs through this ban on DEI. Personally I think a rollback to when it was beneficial and people didnt even notice it would have been the better approach.
