Not that it mattered too much but Elliot would have gotten his draw off the living death because it makes you sac your board and exile your graveyard before returning it. Always fun games from you guys regardless!

No it would not. Living death exiles, and does not sacrifice. As such there are no death triggers as nothing is dying.

The oracle text is: "Each player exiles all creature cards from their graveyard, then sacrifices all creatures they control, then puts all cards they exiled this way onto the battlefield.". It's the graveyard which gets exiled, not the creatures in play so there are indeed death triggers.

Living death's oracle text says that each player exiles all creatures from their graveyard, then sacrifices each creature they control. As such, the creatures *do* get sacrificed and thus trigger death triggers

Really enjoyed the gameplay, so refreshing to not see a board full of mana rocks and dockside extortionists going infinite on turn 2 for once. I did however miss the banter from Alex and Jim!

Morbid Opportunist sees everything die to Living Death. 1-exile dead dudes 2-sacrifice live dudes (they die) 3-put exiled dudes onto battlefield

Fun fact! Diregraf Colossus enters WITH a +1/+1 counter for each creature in your graveyard, meaning that if you mass reanimate your zombies he still gets a bunch of counters, he even gives himself a counter!

Are you sure? If you cast something like zombie apocalypse, all the zombies from your grave would be on the battlefield upon that spells resolution. So by the time the diregraf colossus enters, there wouldn’t be any zombies in the grave, right?

Aaron do you run Balan in that deck? Balan is my swords commander (I think I have 9. Still haven't picked up the Dimir sword) and she's a ton of fun. I think her shenanegins would play well with Ryu's. Stonehewer Giant is also really fun with Sword of Feast and Famine + Maze of Ith.

Maddy deck was a little below the power level I guess but really enjoyed the match and how Aaron managed all the swords as a samurai

Yeah, I felt like it was below power level too. I think on this day I had already filmed with the decks I brought, so Alex loaned me his Tatyova deck right before we filmed. It was still a fun game to play though! :)

I built a Tatyova/Helix Pinnacle deck where the only wincon i recognize is Helix Pinnacle. Everything in the deck is ramp to helix pinnacle, fogs, and a few extra turn spells because ive lost on the turn before my winning upkeep too many times.

He could have lost this game with some different choices made by Sean. Had he waited to eaten alive until post combat, he could've swung out at Aaron with his zombies getting +4/+3. With him gone he Eaten Alives Maddys flier (but then possibly dies to her Rogue's Passage)

Did I miss something with the Putrefy not going towards the sword of feast and famine? Chalking it up to probably thinking Mother of Runes could have protected it or thinking the Sword had pro Black/Green. It feels like that ended up being the turning point of the game.
