Nice one,well done, prefer the black frame as well, makes it pop, and of course you can also colour the roads and so on. I'm using 3mm plywood for this project. I think for this particular map 3mm ply works great as its not too thick as you put the layers together or to thin. If for example I only had 2 layers I could have used 4mm but anything thicker than that would just look strange I think

If you don't consider the price then this one the Atezr P10. Great cutting and engraving capacity plus built in air assist intake. If you are looking for something in the mid price range then Longer Ray5 with 10W module or Ortur Laser Master 2Pro with 10W module. If you are on a super tight budget then the Atomstack A5 Pro+ with 5W power module - good for engraving but cutting perfornance not as good as the 10W modules obviously.

When you engrave the local roads on the same sheet of wood as the water, what do you do (or what happens) when a local road crosses a stream/river?
@CasualDIY10 ай бұрын
Base level is water, next cutout for water and local roads - if there is a bridge then it will be there just need to make sure it's connected.
@robertusm10 ай бұрын
@@CasualDIY Yeah, but when the waterways are cut first, the bridges are r shown on the file. The entire waterways will be cut out contiguously and then the roads will be engraved and there won't be anything crossing the water to be engraved on. Or am I just not getting it?
@CasualDIY10 ай бұрын
@@robertusm On the same layer you cut the water and engrave the roads. That means on that one file you need to make sure the bridges are there and connected. Ie the water cut out is separated by the bridges. It's one file, one layer for both cutting out water and engraving roads.
