The "breakfast is the most important meal" thing and "cereal/orange juice is a part of a healthy breakfast" are just from marketing campaigns back in the mid 1900s
@zyaicob4 жыл бұрын
But breakfast does actually play a role in essentially helping you regulate your appetite. Sleep is probably the longest period during which you're not eating, so the sooner after you wake up that you eat, the more your body gets accustomed to eating regularly. It really makes a difference for people like me that pretty much can't gain weight no matter what
@eechauch55224 жыл бұрын
yaicob.com well sure, if you want to gain weight, eating breakfast is very useful. Skipping meals isn’t really the way of gaining weight. But the vast majority of people looking at their diet are trying to lose weight and simply skipping breakfast is an quite easy way to reduce your calories. Skipping lunch is something most people don’t like and skipping dinner is hard, if you tend to be with other people around dinner time. So if you’re looking for a meal to skip, I think breakfast is the best choice in many cases. If you’re not looking to skip a meal, breakfast can be a very good start in the day. I’m quite happy to be back to eating breakfast, but skipping it did help me lose weight a lot.

The one thing I wish you had covered that absolutely drives me insane is how fat loss actually works. When your body is losing weight, it's pulling from that fat for the extra energy it needs. This means that when you're losing weight, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT EXERCISES YOU'RE DOING AS LONG AS YOU'RE AT A DEFICIT YOUR BODY WILL LOSE FAT EVERYWHERE. I hated how many types of exercises I can recommend to people and they don't want to do them because they think it will make them only lose weight in that one area. For example if you run you don't just lose the fat in your legs, you lose it everywhere. And an even better example when I lost all the weight I wanted to lose and get in shape, I lost all of my fat while gaining muscle because I did almost nothing but pull up and push up variations. Now as you start to gain muscle it can change how the fat rests on your body because your fat is effectively attached onto the top layer of your muscle, but ultimately that's very insignificant in comparison to the changes you'll see from fat loss and muscle growth.
@654jimbob654 Жыл бұрын
It always grinds my gears to see "do this exercise to lose fat on X body part!" type videos. Like, I guess they're technically not lying but it's still a misrepresentation of how your body actually burns fat.

Yeah, u can't spot reduce fat. The only thing I did to lose fat was literally not exercise at all, & limit my eating window from 16/8 Intermittent Fasts to 20/4 Fasts. Maybe a 30min Walk that day if I feel like it. I'm trying to bulk now, & picked up a set of adjustable dumbells & bench to learn to workout. Do u have any tips? Do I jus go from eating 20/4 to 16/8 again? I find tracking calories such a pain. I'm a 50kg female. & I quite like my current weight. But for my BMI, if I drop another 2kg, I'm bordering on underweight. Do I try to shed the 2kg & then bulk & gain back the 2kg as muscle? Or does body composition not work like that?

Or when people want to lose belly fat only and do 1000 ab exercises 😂 but lose the fat from their thighs or breasts instead. LOL my mom did this. She did lose fat but not it the "targeted" area

@@leowzhilindon't bother bulking if you're going to use weights, just work out consistently, make sure your meals contain a reasonable amount of protein and that's it. And don't expect much visual results a month in, muscle gain is very slow, you'll feel stronger, however a lot get discouraged by the slow weight gain initially. Good luck 🤞

What you say about antioxidants is also true about Vitamin C: its role is to help you to produce collagen, which is important for integrity of your skin and blood vessels (among other things). Really all it does for your immune system is make it easier for your body to patch up gaps that diseases could sneak in through.

“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day” was a marketing campaign by big cereal companies in the 40’s. The slogan/idea kind of stuck and now everyone kind of accepts it as common knowledge.
@janmischa57505 жыл бұрын
well, breakfast is the most important meal of the day, because our society builds strongly on having you sit at a desk and work like a neoclassic machine starting at 8. in the morning to benefit other people. I dont know if you ever tried working from 8 am to 1 pm without a breakfast. Just saying

Fun fact about superfoods: It's entirely a marketing gimmick. There is no legal definition of what is a superfood and often whenever one is "discovered" it is based on a study/article/quote that has flimsy or discredited evidence at best and outright lies paid for by the producers of that food. They know people who are on diets are looking for a magic bullet to instantly make them thin instead just, you know, EATING LESS and so won't do the research needed to check that celery doesn't take more energy to eat than you get from digesting it. Here's an expert diet tip from someone who eats whatever he wants, whenever he wants, exercises basically not at all and can fit into a medium shirt: Eat less, exercise if you can, have the fatty stuff less often as a treat but mostly just eat less.

There is nothing inherently bad about pizza. It's wheat, tomatoes and milk plus whatever toppings you want to add. The only problem is that it is energy dense and very tasty so unless you do a lot of physical activity to burn it off you'll tend to eat a lot more calories than you should if you eat it often. Of course that's not taking into account the highly processed kind of pizza you buy frozen at the supermarket that is full of crap like hydrogenated fats and nitrites, but that's potentially true of anything you buy processed and ready to cook/eat and not pizza specifically.

@magic tower how is milk bad for your skeleton?😭 milk contains calcium which is important for having strong bones and teeth (which are technically bones too)
@AG-fn2wc3 жыл бұрын
@magic tower use almond milk then lmao
@john00943 жыл бұрын
@magic tower ha!! Nuts has like 100-200 mg calcium per 600 calories while milk/ cheese has around 800- 1000 mg of calcium and nuts have slightly lower bioavailability of calcium.
@john00943 жыл бұрын
@magic tower that isnt how it works bud.milk also has k2 and potassium which which keeps bones healthy and calcium from milkis usually more absorbed than most plant foods.pottassium,magnesium,k,d etc and exercise also helps in keeping bones strong.

I was curios about the diffirence between paleo and keto diet. Now I know. It's the apple. Thanks James!

That part made me lol so hard. It's ridiculously accurate. I used to joke that my keto card should be revoked 'cos even though I ate mainly ketogenically and stayed in ketosis, I flat-out refused to count individual blueberries for portioning instead of just eating all the blueberries I wanted lol

I love how the car that you were putting oil in was a Tesla model S which doesn’t take oil

1:20 Mechanic here. Too much oil in your car will froth the oil because of the crankshaft splashing into it. At this point it looks and tastes like something you'd get at Starbucks. All that air in the oil will ironically end up starving the engine of oil.
