Agreed. That cat showed the classic body language & fearfulness of a traumatised animal. I would put money on this woman being right & that someone used to hit her. Yup. A lot of dog training is about just acclimatizing them to situations so they aren't afraid. Though once past the issue of fear, there are definitely other aspects where they also need to be taught what is/isn't socially acceptable, and that bad behavior can have consequences.

yes, indeed! It's so important to teach people that 'aggressive' cats are scared and/or threatened. It takes knowledge of a cat's body language, respect and love to gain a cat's trust, but that's what many cat owners are incapable of. They expect their cat to be like a dog. When they feel safe around you, they blossom.

Cats are very proud creatures. To become their friend is quite an accomplishment. And it shows that you are willing to meet them in the middle. This was a perfect training video for anyone saying their cat is aggressive. Most of the time with a cat, you get back what you put in. Be patient and loving and you'll have a friend for life. Kudos to the wonderful, loving young lady and her cat family. I see a lot of happiness.

My bf is his cat's "mom" but I'm the one she wants to sleep next to and hang out with most because I'm calm and quiet. Plus, I feed her when they forget/didn't buy her food and give her treats I buy with the little money I have. She's a beautiful queen who deserves a happy life.

When I adopted my boy Romeo at the shelter, he wasn’t even up for adoption. Heck, he wasn’t even on the shelter’s website. This was all because the people at the shelter thought he “wasn’t nice.” The truth was, he was just very antisocial. He would just hide in his den and wouldn’t come out to meet people OR play with other cats. But when I showed up to adopt a cat one day, he came out of his den - something that he never did for other people before - and then he plopped himself down on my lap! I knew right then and there that it was meant to be - and that my Romeo deserved a good home, just like every other cat. To this day, we’re still really close - and we’ve had snuggles every day ever since! With all of that said, THANK YOU for giving all of these adorable furballs another chance! Every cat deserves to be loved, and you gave that to them, and more! You’re a wonderful example of a great cat mama!!!

Alot of work keeping things clean and keeping a feeding schedule where they all eat properly. Plus, as the cats age, all of those wall hung appliances could become a danger. But she looks like she knows what she is doing. The place looks clean, and she looks devoted to these cat's needs. I would suggest though that she stop trying to rescue the world unless she is ready to buy a house. Nine cats is a lot of cats and the interplay between them is not always wonderful no matter the treatment they get. More cats in such a confined space will just make the tension worse.

*9 other cats, meaning 10 total clearly her apartment is not big enough for 10 cats. some would say that it's not big enough for any cats, but I'm guessing where she lives it's very uncommon and expensive to have a bigger home than this. I would say that anything over 3 cats is clearly unreasonable.

@@PBNJ95 Totally understand. How people treat children and animals are huge indicators of character, so a strong response is normal. I actually have a female cat much like the one in the video. It took weeks just sitting by her(I'd often just read a book) to gain her trust. But now she's a happy playful cat who will occasionally sleep pushed up against me. It may not sound like much, but we consider it a massive victory. First time cat dad or not, I'm sure your little furball lives a great life. Hope your family has many happy years with your cat.

Funnily enough when I was very young we also had 9 cats at our house. Apparently when I was a child I was a bit of a stray-cat magnet. Most of them were only with us temporarily (until we found them homes) but yes, at one point we were feeding 9. After that the most we had at the same time was 4.
