Cat Engines Still Need Rebuilt Too …..

I've got a 96 w900l that still has the factory tanks driver tank just started leaking at 2.4 million miles honestly surprised. At 2.4 she's had 3 overhuals and 2 transmissions and 2 sets of rear ends definitely been a good runner for its life. She's in the shop right now getting a drive line overhaul for my own peace of mind

blue one needs rods and mains done, if your blowing out air filters stop, set the overhead once per year, get apu for overnights, put on a spinner 2 filter, c12 has issue with number 2 cam lobe, also on cats doing water pumps and oil coolers on a schedule is a very good idea, you can not trust a odometer, especially with a new engine ecm, remember the older trucks sometimes used a air shut off on the heater valve and would put psi in the cooling system, check for a electric actuator before a overhaul,

a Cat from the era time you speck of are Great, but if you were to have 10 of them bought brand new, ran all the time in your fleet same type of work I'd be willing to bet you that you wouldn't get 1.6 million miles without a overhaul more than 4 or 5 of them. A million miles I wouldn't bet you but 1.6 million I'd take some of that.
