Thank you so very much, Emma. That was so helpful in a lot of ways. It was mostly the finer details of the fur and the eyes that were wonderful to follow. I do love eyes too, Horses eyes are amzing too, and then dogs!!! Baxter is gorgeous.

I know exactly what you mean by trying to achieve a "softer effect". I think it's the most important and unique attribute of pastels and you accomplished it perfectly with this portrait.

Hello Emma, I want to congratulate you very much for your art. Your pictures are wonderful. Also thank you very much for your videos and for your good advice. I have a question, maybe you already answered it in a video but I haven't seen it yet. Do you fix your paintings ? If so with what? I am afraid to fix my paintings because they always change their color. Sometimes I feel that the color even disappears. What happens if you don't fix the paintings and put them in a picture frame with glass. Does the color go away with time? Thanks in advance for your answer.

Wonderful video. I'm not a dog person, but I love cats! This painting is fantastic. I'm interested in your technique for blocking in the fur. It looks like small little dots and lines in multiple layers. Am I close?

what is the size of that? large paper is better for soft pastels right?

This was 12" x 16" but I use anything from 8" up to 40" for my work. There is no size restriction on pastel
