Valentino immediately decided he owned the place - now he greets everyone who walks by the office and plants himself on the table during every lease signing!

Jemma: I knew someone would bring up allergies. It really is puzzling to me and scientists how the two generations after boomers have so many more allergies than boomers and their older generation parents. They think it has something to do with the amount of chemicals etc that are now in the air and being consumed in our food. Sad.

I've actually live nearby that office! Valentino unfortunately died, but they got a second cat named Smitty (becuase it's on Smith Street) who is super friendly!

Valentino was my friend for many years. I lived in Brooklyn as a little kid, and my mom would always take my sister and me to visit him. He was truly such a sweet cat and would rub on the glass windows on days when the business was closed and we couldn't get in. He was always so excited to see us, and it was obvious that he remembered us. He recently got sick, and although he kept his happy, energetic spirits up, he passed away in January. RIP Valentino, I miss and love you!

When I purchased my first house I went to the Real Estate office alone after work to sign the papers. I looked at the REAM of paper with all the legal mumbo jumbo and had to run to the bathroom to throw up twice. Then when my stomach settled some I sat there trembling for about 45 minutes as I signed sheet after sheet (never reading ANYTHING) as the person sort of told me what I was signing on each page. I never heard a thing I was in a fog. It would have been SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better if there had been a lovely cat there to help calm my nerves. I think the experience would have been better for sure.

Yes. You're right. I once went inside this corner store and saw this huge cat and he immedietly greeted me with a "meow" as I petted him. In the past, I'd intentionally park my car, pretending I needed something in hopes I'd see him...but I think he hides out in the shelves.

I had a bookshop in Ohio wherein shelter cats were fostered and then adopted by customers. More than 50 were adopted from my shop over the years. I then wrote a series of novels about the experience (Shelve Under C is the first) to encourage other shops to look into fostering dogs, cats, rabbits, etc. The business that took over my location continued to foster, thankfully.
