Speaking to Gold's David Andrews in an episode of Gold Meets recorded back in 2021, Yusuf reflected on growing up in London during the Swinging '60s, and how The Beatles changed everything for him.

Huge fan of this mans music. Teaser and the firecat is one of the strangest sounding albums of the 70's. And it is one of my ultimate favourites. When i say strange, i mean in a very very good way!!! It sounds like nothing else.

Beautiful guy , amazing musician. I grew up with his songs. One day he sold his guitars and turned his back on jesus and God who gave him the gift . What a waste. Imagine how many more beautiful song's he'd have if he didn't make that mistake. Love his songs forever.
