I think the issue really boils down to the fact that game studios don’t pay their employees what they are really worth . Blizzard posted basically for a full QA team for classic last week (one junior, two senior and a lead) but the salary ranges for these positions are insanely low especially when the positions are “hybrid” meaning you have to live close to Irvine. For context of how silly low the salary bands are, the top end of the “lead QA” position is ~10k less than my entry-level salary almost a decade ago as a QA in game development.

It's not all bad news, opened my professions tab on my level 52 hunter and cooking gave me Camouflage and Cobra Shot ability, could actually drag them to the action bar as well.

They're applying the new client to the old data, so from a developer's perspective it's expected that things are broken. But the fact they have this many bugs, it may imply they (the Cata Team, presuming that's a separate team) is too understaffed or impeded by internal shite (cough, managers).

I’m getting sick of giving them the excuse that they’re understaffed. At some point it becomes a leadership issue. They’re putting too much on the teams plate that they can’t finish it. Stop pushing out unfinished stuff.

It's not an excuse. It's reality. Look at the recent layoffs. They are working with a skeleton crew across multiple versions of the game. Yes leadership is also blame but this is what we get as a result.

Just my theory but you know how they made #SomeChanges to everything pre cata? Well… you can’t exactly lay the massive changes cata made on top of classic and expect everything to mesh.

I experienced allot of bugs with this pre-patch cata, Blizzard shuld have delayed or been waiting with the relese to avoid this bugs, yesterday i was flying betwen 2 flightpoints without beeing able to land and have been flying with flyingmoubth in Dalaran with is suposed to not be posible

It's a damned re-release! How the F can it be so bad? I made the mistake of boosting a character and I can't even play it becauise the game is unplayable. BG's are broken as hell, my internet is great but I enter a bg and have 300+ ping minimum? Why can I play bg's in SOD or retail but not cata? I was looking forward to cata but I am already over it and it has not even launched

It’s cata it was fucked back then it’s fucked now lol… that being said it’s nothing to do with sod sod is doing it’s own thing with its own team cata is “fucked” because blizzard lost most this data when they did the level squish at the end of cata and are now trying to replicate it like with the trilogy problem is cata has far FAR more systems to replicate and its FUCKED as for resources blizzard has the classic teams now working on plunderstorm and pandaria from the pool that was working in cata so when I say it’s FUCKED I mean it 😂

microsoft bought out a gaming company fired 20% of their staff and replaced it with AI now we beta test for them.... ON OUR DIME and they still refuse to listen to the players, instead they just watch these videos to see what "bugs" or other things they need to remove from the game

Overstretched and, for me, cos there's always been a lot of negativity about cata being the start of the drop off, they see sod as a better option to keep subs, so don't really care about cata. Also interesting that Activision got blamed for falling standards for years, but no mention of ms atm 🤷

Its prepatch, no reason to not go ahead with it even with bugs. Things will get fixed, not even a point to make these videos...
