Both of these pedals are great. The Belle Epoch is much more of your bread and butter delay pedal hence why I bought it first, and I have since got a Boss DD-7 for that bright, clean 80s digital delay sound but I wouldn't mind adding an Echorec someday. It's a very percussive delay and the way the head combination switching works almost lends itself to using it creatively.

Thanks so much! You can kinda see what I was using during the shot at the start with the GigRig in it. I think I had a fuzz or the Pinnacle out of the frame for the leads but the rest was just Belle Epoch, Echorec, Giggity, A/DA Cab sim, and an Arion Stereo Chorus.

@@BrendanMowatSmithlast question, did you run the Echorec into the fuzz or fuzz into echorec? Kinda sounds like you had the echorec in the FXLOOP of your amp and everything else out front? I got the Echorec but the echos don’t sound as tight as yours sounds like a bloody mess when I have the fuzz and echorec going straight into front of my amp. The echos sound all smeared and crashy lol. How did you run it?

@SharpEdgeStandardOfficial No FX loop involved here. No amp either. It was the Giggity into both delays into the old cab sim that caught fire spontaneously on me. All my drive was from pedals at this stage so everything hit a pretty clean “amp” stage, I think. 👍🏼

i have both and i prefere Belle Epoch . It is easier and is a little bit cleaner and vivid than Echorec ( 1st position ). You can reach 95% of Deluxe Memory Man sound with Belle Epoch !!

In my experience the Echorec has a fantastic buffer that keeps the high end of the guitar tone, when its in my chain. I would go so far as to say that the buffer improves the tone of my guitars.

Had both pedals sold the epoch it just is not very versatile. Love the comments below about getting 95% DMM sound, really? Why don't you just but a DMM you idiots. The echorec is one of the best delays I have heard.

Thanks for that, Dan. I don’t think I ever moved the trimmer on the Echorec but I’m not sure, truthfully. I think maybe because I had the Giggity pedal after it replicating the sound of the delay in front of a non-master volume amp? This was recorded direct. I still have that pedal and definitely didn’t move it since then so could maybe open it up and check for you.
