Wow Wow, Wow. I am gob smacked. The quality, design, the wood, fabrics, etc. This is like a luxury beach home. Catana is raising the standards for Lagoon, FP etc. Seriously impressed.

Glad you enjoyed it! I think this boat will really be a a trailblazer! Specially since Catana passed the savings they got from lower raw materials and equipment on to the consumer and this boat has come in at a very reasonable price!

My husband and I watched your Atlantic crossing in a Bali and were impressed. Is it possible we can see a video of your Atlantic crossing in this 5.8? We are curious to observe the Sea keeping abilities with the closed fore deck on this larger yacht. Kind regards From Canada.

Unfortunately the boat has to be shipped because timing is so tight but we may do it the other way! BTW she will be on a try before you buy charter program for a short while before we move onboard, so this might be a chance to see how she performs.

I wouldn’t chose a Bali, or any of the high rise, relatively small length/ width ratio cats for crossing where you can get caught in any serious waves. See my comment above.

@@observer2172 we had the same opinion before. We owned a Lagoon 450 Sportop before and LOVED the boat. It is one of the greatest live aboard boats in my humble opinion. However, since we got used to the flybridge, we really prefer that. We have been in some crazy weather and yes, it can be a challenge sometimes but we have adapted what we do and how we sail when shorthanded and for heavy weather. Preparation makes all the difference as you know. Having said that, one cannot always predict the weather 100% and challenging situations do arise. So we make sure that we know how to dump or reduce the sails quickly and efficiently or at minimum how to spill the wind so that the boat doesn't get over powered.

@@Catamaranguru I wrote about Bali 4.6 and the series. I’ve seen much better sailing cats. But I remember a running cat pushed on the quarter down a steep wave, turned and having the lower hull plow into the throw …didn’t capsize, it was a touch and go… I would still choose a fast cat for my old age .. and avoid steep waves.😀

We hear that all the time about production boats. We will sail her back from Annapolis to Bahamas in October / November (not the best time of the year because the Atlantic can get icky during winter). But we have no choice because we have to do the boat show. However, we will then see what her seakeeping abilities are. We have been extremely happy with our Bali 5.4. The boat handled exceptionally well as you may have seen in some of our videos. I hope it will be a similar experience.

I sailed a Bali 4.6 for a week, including a day of running in a 35-40 kts blow with 2-2.5 m waves. It’s a fantastic party or house boat, huge spaces everywhere, perfect layout; garage like tilting back door is great, etc. It can also sail somewhat, but no more.

Yes, the boat is a really great live aboard platform. I assume that you were on a charter boat and generally the charter versions have very limited sail capacity which is a great shame. You would be amazed how much better the Bali's perform with upgraded sails. FYI we made a video with our sailing school instructor on the Bali 4.2 and he explains how he trim the sails for optimum performance.
