Its really great to see our own backyard on KZbin. Hobart really does have some of the best anchorages. (Even when it's blowing 40 knots.... like right now!!) I hope Catamaran Impi and crew are safe and sound. Inbox me if you want some local knowledge of where to visit/anchore etc. We have some 'must visit' destinations to share with you. Have a devil of a time :-) Regards Donna and Scott
@paulnaylor33016 жыл бұрын
I enjoy your sailing , the intro is awesome then you kill it with the music the natural sounds of nature brings one to the place .. if I may make a suggestion try making a video with just natural sounds it puts the viewer there to .. as with most sailing channels they ruin it with music .. the sounds of hustle bustle of the cities the sounds of wind and waves are more natural than someone screaming over the top of it ...and keep showing sailing footage I could watch and listen to the waves rolling by for hours ..thank you
@CatamaranImpi6 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul ! Thanks for the honest comment and nice way in which you word how we can better it. I have this quite often, and I must say that I struggle to capture great sound. The natural sounds do not come out nicely with wind whistling through the microphone and scratchy sounds - I literally use socks, multiple cameras, foam, and even egg cartons to record sounds etc. when sailing. I hide cameras under the patio roof, in the stack pack, on the stern steps and all over the boat so I can share the best sailing / ocean sounds with our viewers - it takes me hours and hours to align the sound to the clip in most cases because wind seriously screeches through the microphone. Sound is probably something I need most to work on, but I capture a lot of what I do whilst we are on the move and we do not 'set up our shoots' - we kinda 'point form the hip' because we are that busy with exploring and filming is secondary. Actually, I often find myself lagging behind Ana trying to capture the perfect shots, but as she reminds me, we are exploring and living our traveling lives, so if folks can give me some pointers as to what equipment I can get to suit this type of random recording lifestyle, I will try my best with future shoots to capture better sounds. I am thinking I have managed to get it right on the boat with wind and waves but now I need to get it better done on land. Cheers my friend - hope you having an awesome weekend. Brent

Here's a new question on an old subject for you Brett. As you probably know Beneteau have just announced that they are going to produce a new catamaran design specifically for the full-time live aboard cruiser. So here is my question for you, if money was taken completely out of the equation what would be your perfect boat for travelling the oceans - new or used, power or sail. I have pondered this question many times and I must admit that given the choice I would probably go with something like a Nordhavn 68 or 76 trawler rather than a 50 foot cat. Which way or boat would you choose in a money is no object situation ??? Take care and keep having fun. (and tell Ana to behave herself)

Aye Duncan - I hope you enjoying the farm mate ! Sorry about the Lagoon mate - lol - so many folks have bought them after visiting us, but - B U T - we hear they are releasing a new series all carbon fiber fast cruising catamaran later in the year I think - so that's something I'm looking forward to seeing. You may want to wait and see what they put out there! Cheers mate - have an awesome weekend

You guys keep lifting the bar as regards video excellence! Of course, that stunning intro helps a lot, and I have not once watched without going back and repeating it a few times. Was the salt water shower cold mate? Ana's foredeck yoga was a perfect bookend too!
@CatamaranImpi6 жыл бұрын
Aye - Thank you Tony! We get mixed messages about the intros - sometimes too long, bad music and so on, so it's nice to get your comment encouraging us on. The reason I run intro's like this is because I like to share some of our greatest sailing moments here. We are a sailing channel - this is our passion so I like to capture the vibe of sailing for others as much as possible so it's quite sad for us when we get negative comments around the intro, but we also understand we can't be everything to everyone and we feel we need to be true to ourselves because these are also memories we are capturing. Actually, the salt water shower was awesome - I feel incredibly alive on the front of the boat pushing through the oceans, the wind, the waves, the speed - it's incredibly exhilarating being there and trying to capture the vibe on camera. Of course my favourite part is is the hot shower afterwards :D I'm pleased to hear about the great ending with Ana's yoga - she is so disciplined and does yoga every day, seldom allowing me to capture it, so this was a rare moment - lol. Cheers my friend and have a great weekend

Why do sailors drink so much?
@CatamaranImpi6 жыл бұрын
Great question! They say it's usually the lonely sailors that drink a lot, but I guess it's all in the socializing and taking life with a pinch of salt. We very seldom find ourselves with 'drunk sailors' - usually folks are just having a good time together and drinking a glass or three!
