Cataract surgery. No rotation after cracking? Chop to the side!

Sometimes the lens, despite good hydro dissection, does not rotate freely. This can be due to interlocking lens layers. The natural lens is rather like an onion, with multiple layers, and these can interlock and resist rotation in one direction or another, or prevent rotation at all. In these circumstances, increasingly I chop to the side, and the subsequent segments free with ease due to the extra space created.
