One of my favorite memories is camping,waking up early with my dad and catching fresh trout from the river we were camping by. Started a camp fire and cooking the trout and scrambled eggs out in the open with my dad. Best breakfast i have ever had.

Blue Gills and Crappies make the best fish fry. When filleted a certain way, you can remove a big chunk of the meat from the ribs when fried. I grew up around the boundary waters of Minnesota and was taught how to fillet even Pike and Musky removing most bones / ribs in the process... Miss my shore lunches of my youth. Enjoying the channel 🤙

Oh yea perch is awesome...I had it the same way..my favorite fish is sturgeon back in the 1970 s.me and my stepdad would go out fishing for the weekends and he would always catch one..the smallest one was 6 feet long..alot of meat..wow the taste was like catfish only no bones at all. Such awesome fish I miss it so much...

Awesome, I have a 37' sea ray so I'm looking fwd to the boat videos. An old boater rule though, no open flames on a boat. You'd be surprised how fast it would burn if a problem occurred. Also, (if you are unaware of this) always run your engine blower when going under 10mph. I saw a boat explode months ago cruising by our slip and 3 people got burned. No blower was on and a small fuel vapor leak.

Not really into fishing, but being on the water is my passion! If I could I'd live on a houseboat! When the water is that still I call it "still as a mill pond". The sunsets are what it's all about! The fish were cooked to perfection!! Paired well with the zucc and salad! What a great day! Thanks for sharing your adventure!!!

We spend the week after Mother's Day fishing for bluegill at Reelfoot Lake in Tn. Good eating fish, breaded and fried. Love your Jump In, we're 75 and have cancer so our travels are greatly reduced. But I did make the trip this year. Love both your channels. Thanks for all the work you do to entertain us.

Lots of good memories perch jerking on Ouachita over the years. Fish just seem to taste better coming out of a deep clear lake like that but Ouachita has changed over the years and we've had to adapt. My nana and uncle say the meat is sweeter when picking it off the bone like that. That reminds me, I need to catch a bunch for them to get their fill for the year. I fish Maumelle 1-3 days a week since it's 10 minutes from me. You kids keep having fun and stay safe.

If I’m breading with panko or Japanese bread crumbs, I like to ground them up finer in the Cuisenart with the twirly blade. I like the texture better, and mixes well with your seasonings, like the old bay, or any herb, like a touch of rubbed sage, and I’d mix dried parsley too. You can prepare at home before you go. I prefer cornmeal with fish, either way it’s delicious! The cream in the egg wash, and cornstarch instead of flour is I nice touch, I add my salt & pepper in this stage of the breading process. My favorite freshwater fish is walleye, we cooked a lot of it at the restaurant, yummy! Thanks for sharing your adventure!

Just got back from weekend on boat with my bride. First night sleeping out "on the hook" and storm blows in with lightening, big winds and 2' whitecaps. Finally made the decision to back to boat launch and tie up to the dock at about 11pm. Tied up to the dock there for the night. (And got out of there early next morning) Garmin Plotter/GPS with the lake card was amazing in the pitch black. Straight IFR driving and it worked flawlessly. If you don't have decent electronics I would definitely recommend it.
@stinger40953 жыл бұрын
Agree. GPS/ plotter is absolutely a must. Every time me and the wife spend a few nights out on the hook, we always end up launching in the dark. Not intending to, but we always take to long getting ready to head out. I would have been so screwed without the plotter.
