Absolutely correct about the restricted flow through the adapter. For years I would literally use a jig sawzall blade to jig them open. Another problem…the flange that connects the pipe adapter. It locks with a 1/2” twist. Connect your tile to this adapter with tile tape and set the basin in the trench and see what happens..1/2” movement and the flange pops off everytime. Now you need to tape the entire flange and the adapter.

Can you run over these with a riding mower, or do you advise against that kind of weight over these grates?

I’m about to make a $1000 order on your for some catch basins, leaf filters , inline directional tees, and a bunch of fittings.. I have question I live in Louisiana and we don’t really have too many freezes, I want to do a yard drain , not a French drain so no perforated pipe..I have 100 ft of 3 inch corrugated ..wound it be fine to just run the 3 inch corrugated for down spouts and PVC sch 40 4 inch for main??
