Can we just take a moment and just appreciate how much effort this fisherman does in videography. We got to see a shot of him coming in on the sandy beach. Which means he already landed, set up his camera, went back out into the water so he could show us, his viewers, of him coming into the place were he planned to camp. This is pure entertainment dedication I cannot say how awesome this all is.

Hey Matts! Great video, as always. I've camped at that very spot. I often take a 15 foot aluminum boat out in that bay and have a pretty good anchoring technique. I drop a DANFORTH anchor (common man, get a good anchor. It will save your butt if you have a mechanical failure) out I then drive into the beach. Make sure the anchor is set properly - this is important given the amount of sea grass in that bay. I get another long rope and tie it to the stern or bow. I secure this line to something substantial at night (ideally a tree but another anchor works - just don't stub your tow on it at night). Keep this line slack. The hot tip is to disconnect the fuel line from your engine (not the tank) and put the motor in reverse at idle. I ghost ride the whip out off of the beach while paying out line - the engine runs out of gas in about 30 seconds. This way the boat is anchored out safely and you have it secured to a slack line on shore. This way, if your fishing departure is at low tide you can always pull in the boat as you walk up current on the beach and off you go. Keep the content coming. Love it!

Another great video Matt. Here's a couple of technical thoughts. Crabs don't like a fast current. They especially don't like a differential between high and low tides being so high. The movement of water causes them to hunker down, usually burying themselves in the sand or muddy bottom. I bet if you went back to the same spot when the tide differentials are narrow, you'd have a lot more crab in your pots. The sketchy water you encountered at the mouth of the ocean was a change of tide going up against the incoming swell. Anyone who has fished the mouth of the Columbia River knows the feeling of being in a boing pot of water. It's a freaky feeling. Thank you for another fun video. Keep 'em coming!

Keeping crabs alive overnight: They will actually die faster in a bucket of stagnant water because of the limited supply of oxegen. What I do for blue crabs on the east coast is just throwing some damp seaweed on top and to keep them in the shade.

I use a "running line“ anchor system for my boat. It goes: Anchor, chain, big stainless ring, long loop of rope (maybe 120ft). Then you set the achor when you come into the beach, tie the boat on to the loop of rope and then pull it out using the other side of the loop. Then just pin the rope at the beach. There are videos on it
