Largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish were all biting and I had several great lake shore lunches. Let me help you with the salt pork. In the south we use it for seasoning greens and beans. If you want to eat it for breakfast cover the bacon in water once it boils pour the water off put more water and pour it off when it boils. Now fry it like normal and your in the game. I hope that helps you.

Me and my daughter do day trip fishing. Where we fish for 12 hours straight. And for lunch we always have chili dogs and chili nacho cheese doritos. Keep up the amazing videos ace. I also got that portable stove to do catch and cooks as well. God bless man.

Salt pork is used in southern cooking. It is used to flavor green beans, collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens and kale. It needs to be boiled first to get rid of some of the salt , then add it to the food you want to cook it in. It is amazing used that way.

Hey man, if you want walleye, go to Lake Erie. I limit out at 6 almost every time I go out. The biggest one I’ve ever caught was a 10 pounder. Also, during late winter, go to Conneaut creek right where it flows into Lake Erie, and throw out a bobber with a white split tail and a grub on the hook, and you can easily limit out on massive 25 inch steelhead

The Salted Pork is used to add flavor to other foods. Us country folk use it in beans, turnip greens, green beans. It's not typically meant to be eaten like bacon. Unless of course, you really like salty! Oh, and welcome to TENNESSEE!

Just a tip , the salt pork is used to season vegetables ,beans,peas collards and such ..If you had cooked your meat ( bacon ,sausage ,etc ) first ,it would have greased your pan for your eggs ! But I bet it was still good !

The salt in the pork preserves it, normally people will wash it a few times and then boil or deep fry it. In some cases you can eat it “raw”, but I wouldn’t do that unless its your home raised meat and you are salting the pork yourself. We make our own all the time, goes great with bread and soup.

You probably got a million comments on the salted pork by now, so excuse me two cents. The salted pork is generally used to give flavor to boiled or pressure cooked white northern/navy beans. It's a common southern meal from the depression era of the 1920's. Momma or Grandma would take a nice size pot and boil a bag of white navy beans with some salt and pepper and fill it with a ham hoc or some salted pork, and just let it simmer for several hours. And while it was simmering and solidifying it turning it into like a stew, she would make some cornbread in the cast iron skillets. So Water, or tea, and a piping bowl of great northern/navy beans and cornbread would be a satisfying meal that doesn't cost much. *I'm hungry just thinking about it now* I've never seen anyone try to eat salted pork straight up. I can imagine it wasn't very good. You were on point though when you thought it was used for something else. It is. Used to give flavor to beans or a stew. BTW, love your videos man!
