We have never seen decent footage of big catfish eating in front of a camera. Therefore, we decided to go for it ourselves!

Catfish and Carp are very similar when it come to feeding habits. I know carp are rarely predatory of course & the cat fish are. They are both still omnivore scavenger feeders too though and you can catch them on loads of different baits if they are in a hungry mood. 30lb Cat fish and Big Carp over 50lbs have been landed using just a few grains of sweetcorn.

Great video. I have the impression that the catfish is avoiding the hookbait because it looks different. You need your hookbait to blend in with the rest. Maybe even create a close pile of bait with your hook in the middle.

The lips are up, so maybe try a pop-up that is higher off the bottom above its head. Also, it seemed to really like to hoover up three or more baits at a time, so maybe a snowman rig.

Great film. Could you try a pop up and a much larger bait like multiple pellets. Be interesting if its easier for them to take hold of.

They will feed on loads of baits.. Probably more than a Carp will to be honest as Catfish are of course predatory too.

Loads of catfish are landed using Big fish meal boilies and Pellets in the UK. SPAM is also a quality bait for them.

Amazing video like ever . I remember a vidéo from catfish anglers who used home made boilies . Boilies was almost big as a tennis ball with a piece of styro foam inside to make it float. This way it was to big for carps and much easyer for catfish to eat it . You should try . A dead fish or a piece of squid would be good to ;)

Lucky catfish. It missed the hooked bait. Poor carp went right for it. A small or medium catfish. More fun to feed fish on camera than to catch and traumatize them. Unless you have to catch fish to eat and survive.

For me I would would try a larger bait of squabs from Palatrax. I can see the issues here with boilies. Simply the wrong shape. Great Video again.

Thanks for these videos, I see one problem I am doing wrong that I will give a try next time I go for carp. I'm keeping the line tight and the carp probably can see it. I'll probably add a leader line. I thought carp and catfish were dumb but they actually seem somewhat smart and I guess I'm dumb 😂..... 🙏

2 foot zig with yellow pop up. Heavy line and strong hook.

Maybe try to blend some maggots, add fish flavour and let the pop-up boiles soak in this juice. Not sure at 100% but theoretically it should trigger them more, or even glue a handful of boiles with arabic gum, so they'll stick together for longer and won't be scattered all around by the catsfish (at least for few more minutes).

Je ziet dat de haak het tegengewicht is...groter aas en ietsjes hoger leggen(zoals met een popup idee)boven de bodem...je ziet dat de vis struggled met het haakaas... en zeker infuseren met zalm olie ofzo...weekje laten drogen en dan gaan met de banaan...denk dat je dan zeker succes gaat krijgen...

Interesting, looks as though they just use their barbels and not their eyes to find food on the bottom (I'm not into catfish), should try using multiple hook baits instead of a single bait

De meerval heeft feilloos door dat de pop-up dumbbell anders is. Ik zou voor 30 mm boillie gaan in dezelfde smaak als de 15mm boillie. Ben je gelijk van de brasem af.
