Don't you just love Hickory Mound? It is so beautiful. Sometimes I just drive down there for the nice scenery. It's a great place for star gazing, too. We use to go there at night & catch shrimp with a net, and head light. You touched on a pet peeve of mine. I can't believe how people can throw their garbage on the ground. Nature is too beautiful to be disrespected like that. God bless.

Our family has been hand-lining for generations. It’s great! We steam them in the same pot setup. 3 cans of beer 3 cups of vinegar 1 cup of old bay Throw in a half-bushel of (whole) crabs and layer another cup of old bay on top with another splash of vinegar. Let the crabs steam for 10 minutes until the ones on top are nice and red. All those leftover guts and shells make amazing compost for the garden.

Great video! Do you need a license to catch crab with a hand line ? Any good spots that you know near Miami?

I don't fish that area, it's my understanding you don't need a license to do this. I'd check the state FWC regulations to make sure.

I noticed that many people in the comment section have asked where this fishing location is, but they haven’t received a response from you. Is that because you’re afraid that too many people will start showing up there? 🤔 If not, then where EXACTLY is the spot where you filmed the crabbing activity? That looked like a beautiful place to drive and fish.

To be honest it's already crazy busy down there. We don't even go on the weekends anymore, you can't find a spot. It's getting busy during the week as well.

Just out of curiosity , is that cooler mounted to your truck or do you just need the exercise ?

You obviously didn't pay attention that I was walking ALL directions from the truck picking up crabs. I'm not about to lug a cooler up and down the road.
