You are definitely loaded for bear with the long rods and heavy reels. Which Asian carp: silver, black, bighead, grass? Hopefully the silver carp, the jumping kind. When they start jumping, it's easy to net them. Not aware that they were available as bait.

Catfishing is pure simple fun, and relaxing and your almost guaranteed to ketch some. Many Anglers go home Skunked, fishing for other Types of fish. Catfishing can give a young Kid his first chance at fighting a fish; Good first impressions. I do other fishing, but old Andy taught me the Love of Catfishing, on Idahos Snake River.

@catfishingwithsteveo About 2 weeks ago , I caught a 30 inch 11.50 lb Channel CAT, in our Lake Channel. This thing peeled line, and Bull dogged down, the Rinse and Repeat....as if to say, " OH you really think I'm done? Watch this!", The Balboa Tuff Cat took off again. Even when I got it up close to net , it did two more bull dog pull downs. I was using Raw chicken, 5/0 Gamy Circle hook, Medium power moderate action , Wisker Seeker Rod, and 6000 size Kastking, Sharky Bait Feeder Reel; 15 lb test. LOVE THAT CATFISHING!!!

Thank you! They are Diawa Seagate and Sealine reels and 12 ft Okuma longitude rods. The spinning reel is a Kast king Sharky 3

Tell people that you fish for carp and see their reactions. Cat fishing and carp fishing don't require an expensive and high power boat. Edit: Catfish and carp will grow much bigger than bass. AMHIK
