You know when I was a kid we used to be able to catch trout and the little spring fed Brooks there and sabattus and then somebody put the Northern Pike in there and the fishery is just gone yeah the pike fishing is great but that ecosystem and that lake is destroyed now it's really sad it used to be excellent fishing of all different types of species

The state doesn’t have anything about trout on species lists anywhere. It has a decent diversity of fish species including Largemouth bass, Smallmouth bass, crappies, white perch, yellow perch and bull heads it isn’t just a pike fishery. Also the water quality can’t even handle a trout population even if they did exist way back in the day. The algae and oxygen levels and how hot the lake gets in the summer would kill any brook trout living there.

But pike are so much better fish to catch than trout. Such a better game fish
@rockytucker74802 жыл бұрын
@@huntymcbunty they're fun to catch but aside from that they're worthless they're junk fish to start with they're not any good to eat they're bony as hell and on top of that they kill everything and not just to eat they kill for sport and they like to Target their own kind above everything else so if I were to make a choice between a trout or a pike I would take the trout all day as far as the quality of the meat I will side with you on one thing and that is yes they absolutely are much more of a thrill to catch

@@rockytucker7480 funny thing is. me and my dad have a camp up north and we would always go stream hopping for brookies. we always had a blast doing it and any trout that we caught that (that was worth) eating we would. I find that where the pike are they are, they spread like a wild fire so its worthless to try and get rid of them. but up north is special and they should protect the trout populations (especially native trout and self producing)
