You guys stayed at the hilton. As a boy scout in the 70's our troop stayed on an island along the Delaware river. We canoed there, dug a latrine, built a large fire ring for cooking and set up tents. Everything was double/triple bag as not to get wet and lashed in canoes so we wouldn't lose it if we tipped. Some did fish but not much to get. Everything cooked in the fire in foil. 140 miles in 2 days was one of the best times of my life. Mostly a smooth ride but we did hit some 3-5 currents. Sometimes, maybe 2, we had to get out and walk the canoes due to shallow water. Great memory.

I grew up on Maranacok lake in Winthrop in the 80s. The sister lake to annabessacook where I think y'all are on the island. There's a fun Native American story that goes along with the two lakes. Anyhow I thought it was cool and have to say I never heard much about great fishing where you are. That said if you get a chance to get on Maranacok lake just around the corner, you can catch some of the biggest brown trout. Growing up we used worms and fished right off the shore at the point / boat landing. Still remember my 5 year old sister catching a 18" brown with her Duck Tails poll 🤣🤣🤣 Love the content my man! Just found your channel today. I live in Old Town Maine now but you probably know better spots up here than I do I'm sure 😃😂🤣

Island houses seem like fun for a weekend but would be a pain in the ass to maintain.
Small unknown lakes, can have the most awesome fishing I've been fortunate to fish two one on the U.P. Of Michigan, and the other at my former in laws in Quebec, ( in the first ten minutes of fishing, three casts three fish, two small mouths, one northern.)

We did fly outs into Canada reminded me a lot of those. We targeted eyes and yella perch for the majority of the time but a big pike or muskie would have to be landed regularly.

As an ol’ veteran of white perch, that was nice to see. Definitely one of the best eaten fish pound per pound. Two comments. Don’t think there is a 4 lb white perch. That’s like almost double my state record. And Pike would have trouble with eating perch. Most predators avoid them for other fish because of their ability to throw up their spikes on top and prevent from being swallowed. As well as ouch!
