What is the total weight of your terminal tackle? Wondering if my 8’6” MH rod could handle throwing those big swim baits.

Total weight is a 1/8 oz hook and a 1/2 oz bullet weight. For cumulative 5/8 oz But I’ve gone as low was 1/4 oz on the bullet weight and it works well too.

The weighted hook is to balance the lure so it swims up right without rolling. The bullet weight is the main weight for casting distance and lure sinking.

You think going 3/4 to 1 oz on the t-rig is too heavy?

Totally depends the depth of water and how turbulent the water is. Shallower and smoother conditions I’d go lighter. Deep/rough conditions that could be okay
