What is up! Me & Ken went out and put the Hobie Mirage Itrek 11 to the test by hitting up San Diego Bay in "not-so-fun" conditions. Let me tell you guys this, it was quite an adventure and I do NOT recommend doing this unless you have a friend with you! So do yourself a favor, go have fun, experience new things and most importantly, be safe and have fun! - Bearz G

@@BearzGoh yeah absolutely. shore pounding is where I think most of us started from. I still shore pound often to keep me humble and remind me where it all started

@@BearzG I need to stop messing around and just get one. The boat is cool and all but there’s something to be said about fishing on a piece of plastic being close to the water. Can’t wait to see more videos on the I trek!

Nice fishing. I too caught a 21 “not to far from that one on Wednesday before.. We also had some other shorts and missed what felt like a couple of le gals. We were using jigs and live sardines. Maybe I’ll see you out there . I am fishing. 11.5 RIB.

I like everything about kayak fishing from the surf except the paddle back in. I literally flip almost every time. It’s tricky getting in on those waves. If you at all get turned sideways it’s over 😂

Thinking of getting one of these for fishing the bay and local lakes. At what point does the wind become an issue?

Hey Bearz G, kayak fishing is a blast! I have an Oldtown Bigwater 132pdl, and I love it. San Diego is fun an all. But there are soo many other places to fish on your kayak. I went to Dana Point Harbor 2weeks Sunday. Caught my first ever Thresher shark 🦈 from my kayak. Best catch this year. It was a small one 63inches long, and 25pounds. They literally launch themselves out of the water. Best fish fight for me by far. Anyway take care .

Keep the grips on the fish or he will launch out of your measuring device. As a kayak fisherman for several years it is easier to bring a small measuring tape for legal purposes. Take colored electrical tapes and measure on your fishing rod from the butt. This way you can put the rod vertical on the kayak and hold the halibut up to it tail touching the kayak with the grippers. Tom Hams Light House.

Add 1/2 inch for grippers in moutth.
