Catching the biggest fish in the river. (Absolute monsters)

In this fishing video we went out to the river with 2 goals, catch carp and catch gar. While my main goal was to catch a carp in the river I ended up catching a really nice size alligator gar. But I also caught a small mouth buffalo which I'll take a a victory on my main goal of targeting carp.

genrally how big of a piece of carp should you be using for all sizes of gar? amazing catches yall. i see dat-van got some of them denali rods. hope hes liking them

About a palm size piece of bait. I think so far he likes the Denali. That may have been only his 2nd time using them

Can you use a hair rig without lead or weight?

You can but it’s harder to cast and get the hook set

Does hair rig boilies combo attract more carp and less cats?

I wish, but no. The hair rig help hook more carp because they can be very sensitive to hooks. Boilies are just a bait for them that is easy to see and eat. I use fake foam ones. But cats will eat anything. If they are in the area , your going to have to deal with them

It depends on that specific area. Trial and error is the best way to find out.

Yes, but you need to learn your area. I’ve had sweet flavors work in some spot and spicy flavors in others
