Fortunately I know exactly where this last fish was hooked and I can’t BELIEVE you chased it all the way down to the last flat where the other river comes in! That first drop down from the cliff is no joke, especially with what the river does right there. Turbulent. Epic video

No city people are ruined they will never understand less conflict. I tired this year to teach the city people I know, even 40lbs underweight from a fight with cancer and a broken foot, they couldn't and wouldn't push themselves to keep up. No gumption therefore they aren't cut out for steelhead fishing PERIOD nor life with less conflict.

Mike DiSarno Thanks Mike! Yeah, I don't fish much these days. I would't be able to capture what I capture if I was the classic photographer/videographer who tries to fish and shoot at the same time. It just doesn't work that way. I really enjoy capturing these great moments in time. Most people don't have the patience, but I think it's paying off as you don't see this kind of footage very often.

Hey I've been a Steelhead fanatic since I was a kid. There are pictures of my mother with a kid carrier and my little sister in it fishing the Vedder river in the 70's. Mom fished for Steelhead and taught by my old Man with the center pin rods that he built. The old Man fished with Fred Sr. and apparently rubbed shoulders a few times with R. Brown. So to say the least I was born into the river life. I've made a couple videos too. I have watched many. Criticized some for the way fish were disrespected, and then criticized my own for being more about the fame than the reason I was taught to enjoy the experience.I keep those for myself and inquiring friends now. I commend you guys for the video. It's inspired me to dig out all that gear. I've become too busy with life. Thanks for that. Chasing the fish really was great. I usually fish alone so 90% of those ones go away. I relate. If your new to Steelheading on the West Coast-It really does happen like that. You are 100% correct tho about comradery and a feel. It's a form of meditation on the river. One that if you are lucky to see a ghost will fill you up inside. One that if you don't and you let yourself, will fill you up too. I've tried to share with the ladies or my friends, even take them to my favorite places to try to make them understand. I don't think it's possible. You really have to be there to understand. Even then I see people missing the experience on a quest to succeed. Hook a fish. Admire it, then watch it swim away with respect and sit back under the Giant Cedar limbs with a coffee and Baileys. Thanks, Duane
