Thank you Madam for briefly and comprehensively covered the topic. Hi,👩‍🏫👩‍🏫 could you check ✅ it out?? " My dad says if I'd spend as much time helping him clean appartments as I do daydreaming about outer space...." I guess "helping" is a participle adjective modifying "I". Maybe I am right.

This is a tricky one because grammarians don't agree on this one. Helping is an extension of the verb "spend" so it is an -ing form. You will use an -ing form after the verbs spend and waste. Spend + Object + -ing form. Waste + Object + -ing form.
