Caterham 620S Snetterton 11.06.24 - Lows and highs

As the forecast had been bad the day before, I switched to my Toyo R888s with the necessary wrestling with the front cycle wings to fit the mount the wheels with the higher profile tyre. The left wing came loose at the bottom mount, so I gaffer taped it to the spar. I also decided to leave the aero screen at home, thinking I'd have a wet day & the standard screen would provide weather protection. I'd never run the standard screen on track before. Well, it didn't last long. I then ran with no screen at all for the rest of the day. Being short, the turbulence & wind noise was actually less than with the aero screen, but the total lack of mirrors was less than ideal, although other than out and in laps, I didn't have to let anyone through all day. The tyre cut the gaffer tape & the cycle wing made a bid for freedom. I blagged some adhesive & tried to re-bond it without success, so I drilled the wing & used cable ties - new carbon wing required. My fastest lap of the day was far from perfect. With better driving and Avon ZZRs there is at least 2 seconds to be gained.

Nice video, I am into posting videos of my track days too, was wondering what camera you use as it’s producing a very high quality and smooth picture, more than mine. Car looks nice too.

Thanks. I use a GoPro Hero 10 with an external mic. I need to improve the sound. Either a different location for the mic and/or a better mic.

@@andytims1 we use an external mic too, have it right next to the exhaust that ends just before the rear drivers side wheel arch, gets rid of the rubbish wind noise quite well, but only a Hero 3 camera, thanks for letting me know, I’ll look into them
