The 992C looks like the Cat 988B. I'm not sure what the 992C will lift but the 988B will lift around 60,000lbs of logs if the hydraulics are in good shape. I think this machine has a V-12 in it whereas the 988B has a Cat 3408 V-8. A person doesn't realize the power these motors develop. When backing up a soft incline with 55/60,000lbs of logs in the forks, you can feel the back wheels just barely touching the ground and the front ones digging just a bit. IMPRESSIVE! @mircocecina The 992G is a much newer machine, so it should be faster. The 992C is a great loader, and it's nice to see one still going strong.

Nice loader I got a interview at APC construction tomorrow at there quary in Golden Colorado they run 988's not sure what year, so it'll be a blast running a machine that size again!

Great video, I love those big loaders. Are you ever going to make a video in which you mount the camera in your cab and take us with you on your dump cycles? I think that would be cool. just a thought. thanks for posting another good one..take care.

Have has a few operators tell me these 992Cs were the best 992's built. Though if I'm not mistaken this is an early model 992C? judging by how the exhaust is routed with horizontal mufflers, vs the later 992C model having the mufflers mounted vertically to reduce the radiant heat under the hood, to correct an overheating issue some 992s' had in hotter climates.

Herbert V you are very correct. I for one have owned and operated 992 C, D, G and K series. I have to agree. I think the C was by far the best of them. Once they worked out the overheating issues in the torque converter and transmission. These were a real money making rock loader

I ran one of these off and on for several years, a 988B as well. Please park the truck closer so the cycles go faster; minimize the movement of the loader. We usually had the bucket within a couple feet of the back of the truck. I know this is just a demo video, but I wish you could see how fast a practiced truck-and-loader crew can move dirt. When the loaded truck pulls away the loader makes a pass where the truck was parked to clean up any spillage and to be sure there are no rocks for the truck to back over. When the truck sees the loader bucket going up he backs under it and the bucket begins to dump as the truck stops. One or two more quick passes and the truck pulls away to make room for the one waiting to back in. Climate controlled cab, you could almost dress "business casual" to run one of these. Finger tip control almost, no chance of getting blisters, even on a long day. Splendid machinery!
