Nice video. I just did the same thing this afternoon - went to Lake Monroe, on the St. John's, and caught a few big channel cats. I kept 2 and put the rest back, and will be frying them up about the same way you did. You make the skinning method look easy, but I normally just fillet them off the bone and off the skin the same as any other fish. both way work, though.

Yeah those big one's have a much higher content of mercury and susceptible to worms and bacterial infections (not able to be cooked off). Damn nice catches bro, love the editing and all the "fluff" takin' out. Nice video!!

Thank you, the big ones are sure fun to catch.

Yeah they are! I’ve been fishing Crescent Lake recently (40min drive away), but only catching SMALL ones. I have a GREAT spot for Black Bullheads, though.. can catch 20 in an hour, all are around 12”-20” !! Hit me up if you wanna give it a try, it’s a “hidden” lake with small boat launch area tucked back in the woods here in west Ormond Beach area.

what is the mount youre using for your chartplotter/finder
@runsinourblood3245 Жыл бұрын
Sorry man just saw this, so it was already mounted when I bought my boat. But I’ll take a look when I’m back home and see if it has a name but I imagine it’s the original mount that comes with it.

I've been dock fishing the Dunns Creek and Crescent Lake areas of the St Johns a lot lately .... Any suggestions on how to avoid all the dang blue crab ? Swear the fish dont have a chance to find the bait before the craps clean it off .
@runsinourblood32452 жыл бұрын
Oh man, I haven't had to deal with that yet, so I can't say what would help.
@Jonathan321772 жыл бұрын
@@runsinourblood3245 i've come up with a bit of a salution ..when bottom fishing cut baits.. I either wrap the bait in cheese cloth or i use a few inches of unbraided nylon rope as like a lure with the bait on the hook.. the goal is it be something the fish would not notice , but the crabs would tangle their claws in .. doesnt help stop the crabs .. but i have been able to pull more of them in rather than them just letting go ..
