Cathay Pacific pilots/crews: where are they from?

Hello everyone and how do you do? Ever wondered where all the crews/pilots come from in airlines? In this clip I give you some insight into the diversity that we have in Cathay Pacific. We come from all parts of the world, different nationalities, all coming together to do a professional job of aviation safely for passenger and cargo operations. On this turnaround flight to Chongqing, we were in a Boeing 747-400ERF in which I was conducting an annual standardisation check flight on the Captain who in turn was also conducting an annual line check on the First Officer. Captain Steefan VW is also an instructor/training Captain and as such has to be checked every alternate annual line check, by a standards officer like myself.

The Captain looks like a university professor who teaches literature and who gets terribly happy when he finally finds a perfect poem. The First Officer looks like one of those giant Emirates planes on KZbin that land like polar bears who are also professional ballerinas. I am sure this crew can also turn a giant aircraft into a delicate snowflake quietly descending from the sky. I am going to fly Cathay Pacific business class this year. Already excited about the food and the landing. I am sure both will be luxurious and divine. Check your passenger lists! When you see my name there, do your very best! I'm from Southend & used to go on flying lessons with my friend, our of SEN via a Cesnar. Unlike my friend, I had no ambition in becoming a pilot. If truth be known, I only enjoyed taking off & landing. To me everything else was boring, also being in a Cesnar was (believe me) incredibly draughty & freezing. It's NOT airtight like a 747😠😠😠😠 Anyway, just a quick (& what I thought was an interesting) fact regarding flying out of SEN, only people who got their PPL ratings out of SEN would know & appreciate. That is, Southend only lies 40 miles East of London. What's the significance? It means that if your trying to obtain your ratings to gain a private pilots licence, once you've taken off from SEN, from their one MUST fly out into the estuary and NOT towards E.London. Why? Travelling at +80 MHP means within minutes you're NOW entering not only one of the most busiest airspace in the world (i.e LHR territory), meaning not only would one NOT have the experience to do so, but also, one wouldn't have the relevant ratings to fly above skyscrapers (i.e. Carney Wharf, Natwest Tower etc). I'll never forget my friend telling that as we flew towards Holland/Belgium.
