Join me and my friend Joey Coconato on a 7 day backpack in Yosemite National Parks Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne, plus the high country with EPIC views and Ten Lakes Basin. This is an awesome 50 mile loop! We see a lot of this iconic parks diversity during this week long trip.

I spend five months from early January to the end of May 1980 winter mountaineering Yosemite when i was 24. Backpacked, snowshoed, crosscountry skiing, climbing, even living in igloos, all over the Sierra Nevada mountains surrounding the park. One of the best adventures of my wilderness lifestyle life.

Lol, Catherine is like... "we hiked barefeet uphill in the snow both ways" Joey is like ohh it was an easy day, barely broke sweat and everything. Catherine is like but we got eaten up by mosquitoes as Joey walks by in shorts and a t-shirt. The man is as adventurous as a hobbit mixed with mike myer's wayne's world character. And OMG did you see this most epic scenery at 20:04 it was as if someone painted landscape on the actual rock wall... and then you realize it is real real. what a beautiful place to go hiking.

Yosemite is not crowded, if you avoid complaining from your car. Get out and walk 5 minutes on a lesser known trail and the magic happens.

I totally agree! I tell people this all the time! Just walk a mile from the trailhead and, with the exception of the Mist Trail, you practically have the place to yourself. That and avoid weekends if you can. But even on those crowded Valley days, I remind myself to just look up and smile.

@@danielkaranja7978 Commercial filming of any kind on NPS parks requires an individual Commercial Filming Permit for that park. Very expensive and difficult to get. If you're receiving any financial or material reward at all from your production, NPS considers it commercial. And, NPS monitors KZbin and receives tips for violations. Several KZbinrs have gotten hit with serious fines for this.

Hard to describe this video without sounding like a broken record. As I've said many times before... epic, gorgeous, beautiful, etc. I've also said it before, but this might be the best video you've ever produced Cat! You just keep raising the bar! I sometimes wonder what runs through someone's mind as they hike for miles and miles on a trip like this with nothing but the wind in their ears. Do they think about the meaning of life? I imagine some pretty deep thoughts as one hikes through this gorgeous landscape.

Last time I was in White Wolf trail area It got cold so quick and I went to sleep with frozen hair after a quick rinse prior to dinner and then woke up to about 4" of snow. It was certainly a night requiring warmed rocks and water bottles in our bags. Sounds like a miserable time but it was the best hike ever in my life. That area is amazing!!!

I've patiently waited for this adventure and am watching it now. Only on day 2 and the scenery has been absolutely beautiful. Looking forward to the rest of the vid. I always forget to say this so I'm saying it while still watching. In addition to the stunning views you take us to, I want to compliment you on the safe way you hike - with your sticks and taking your time. I see far too many people trying to show their prowess on trails that come out hurt. So in addition to the beauty you are teaching safe practices for managing the different trails you hike. As always, Cat, thank you for taking us along. Safe travels and adventures.

Oh lordy, you just did what my hubby and I fondly refer to as "The Hell Hike"... Only we came from the opposite direction, from Tuolumne Meadows to White Wolf, in three days, hiking up that 4500-foot climb on the last day, literally begging a ranger we saw in a truck to drive us that last mile. That he didn't dump me after that is a miracle.

Looks like an even 50 mi.That campsite on the ridge overlooking the valleys and peaks is jaw dropping, kind've like Trail Crest at Mt. Whitney/JMT. The images of you and Joey hiking through a boulder-strewn trail with tall Ponderosa and Jeffrey Pines, the rock-strewn rivers and waterfalls, wildflowers, and Tuolumne canyon vistas were absolutely breathtaking! How cool .... This old man spent 5 nights in the Golden Trout Wilderness about the same time you guys were up there. The weather was perfect. I am hoping to get 1 more trip in before the snow falls. I wish I could whip out videos like you ... I got tons shot and what a chore organizing it all. I hope to be half as good as you sharing someday.

Thank you Cat & Joey for the Yosemite trip to an epic wonderland. 😊 Crystal clear waterfalls, beautiful greenery all around to highlight the many boulders & mountains. ⛰️ I am not a hiker but with views like these I would be glad to spend time in the canyon & high country. Thanks for a great episode. 🙋🏼‍♀️👍🏻❤️

Having lived near Yosemite for many years and having seen much of it, I really appreciated your video because these are parts I've never seen. I love that you take time to show the beautiful views, the waterfalls, the fall colors. Sometimes I pause the video, just to gaze on the beautiful scenery. Well done.
