I get the perspective of "Don't lose your peace" at the end of the talk. I feel that you didn't address the major issue, which you acknowledged early on in the talk, Pope Francis says things in an ambiguous way and he lacks clarity in so many of his teachings. The truth should be clear. He is the legitimate Pope, but his teachings are not clear and his actions draw scandal...so those teachings and actions are bad.

That ambigous word is tossed around a-lot these days if you actually want to be truthful much of what you read in Sacred scripture could also be considered ambigous. It is proven out by the thousands of differing interpretations and the necessity of having someone instruct you. If we do as we ought and give Pope Francis the benefit of the doubt when we see two ways something could be interpreted we should always choose the way which aligns with the traditional teachings of the Church. If we do not see a way we should first assume it is our own error in misunderstanding. That is called humility. I am not saying we should just accept every word in blind faith but making rash judgments or following those who seem to have it in for Pope Francis is far far from charitable to anybody.

Good to see Catholic answers doing this segment. There needs to be more of these. That being said, Dr Taylor Marshall was completely misrepresented here. He was taken out of context which made him sound like the Pope isn't a legitimate Authority. He wasn't saying this at all. Marshall deeply loves the Pope and staunchly recognizes Francis as the legitimate Pope. Marshall is not a sedevecantist, he's no where near there, so I don't know why Taylor Marshall's voice clip sparked a conversation about the Pope being in invalid Pope... You should do an interview with Taylor Marshall.

People forget that our church is a multicultural and universal church and has always taken into serious consideration the culture of the place.

Just as if I proclaimed to be Catholic and then proceeded to fill my home home with statues of the Buddha and my Catholic friends came over saw this that would surely raise an eyebrow or two. The same applies to a Pope who sets up a pagan idol in the Vatican. Try having a devout Muslim hang a crucifix in his mosque and see what happens. For example, Regarding the nominal catholics, I would argue some of them would feel more attracted to the church, because of the fact the Pope is addressing, in some way or the other the whole world; they might feel like the pope is touching issues about our modern society that, they might feel, require more attention, and issues that the church hadn't pronounce itself strongly in the past, like the ongoing destruction of our habitat. I feel, one of the reasons on why they remain nominal is because they haven't seen the church been visibly involved in the issues, these catholics would think, humanity is facing right now, and might feel a separation of their faith with their reality. So seeing and hearing the Pope being more engaged with these problems might actually invite them to deepen their faith. I understand your point about the buddha statues, but the example of the Pope is the current issue, which I think is born out of ignorance of other cultures, like the amazonian one. As a devout cradle catholic from a latin american country who has been in touch with latin american cultures and belief, I have a different take on the pachamama. What people saw could be interpreted in a less controversial way. I'll explain. There are no religions worshiping the pachamama, what you could find are small or groups of people believing in that, but these groups are far from being a majority anywhere. That granted, no religious leader, much less a Pope will take the goddess of a small cult and pay homage to that. On the other hand, pachama has being taken in the latin american culture as a symbol of the earth, and if you take it directly from the amazon tribes, the meaning become the more apparent; People of the amazon are facing extinction due to different man made causes. So the pachacha mama here becomes the symbol of their livelihood and home. To me it would be only natural that the Pope takes the symbol, and place it center to draw concern and attention to an issue that it is affecting everyone in the planet, i.e. the destruction of the amazon, the lung of the planet. The Pope has been preoccupied, from the beginning, with the issue of climate change. So the pachamama statue, the destruction of the amazon and their tribes, it all fits into what's been a key element in his papacy. Regarding the muslims, this is not a good example, that's on the extreme side, and to clarify, no devout muslim could do that, and if someone would hang a crucifix in the mosque, there wouldn't be any confusion, but sadly deaths, there would be people killing the eledge perpetrators, for that is what their religion teaches. I am certain that this is the beginning of a new era, that God is about to renew the earth and that He is about to reign. I firmly believe that this is the end times, but NOT the end of the world. I am very excited about it, I KNOW that God is in control, I KNOW that Marian prophecies are about to be fulfilled, and I am so at peace and excited about it. I really appreciate this video. The very fact that CA did this video and asked the question is an acknowledgement that they too have real, serious concerns about Pope Francis (even though they tended to totally dismiss Vigano, even in his first public foray). Early on, I too was one of those who was giving Pope Francis the benefit of the doubt, even as a fierce opponent of his left-leaning politics/economics. But too many examples have arisen over time for anyone to simply give him the benefit of the doubt anymore, even with mainstream media distortions. So many other commenters on this video are disappointed that Cy and Joe didn't delve deeper into and more strongly validate the legitimate concerns about Pope Francis, but that's not really what this video was about. I'm at 13:00 and he's talking about the obligation to ALWAYS give the most charitable interpretation. That's quite right. But the most charitable interpretation can plausibly change when the issue keeps repeating. For example, my neighbour says something that hurts my feelings. I can tell myself she didn't mean it or didn't realise or whatever. If she does this again, same interpretation. If she does this every other time I speak to her, I can eventually charitably conclude that she is actually a rude person, stop engaging her company, then pray for her and forgive her.

If the pope just happen to be a bad one, wouldn't be much of a problem.. The truth of the matter is much more serious then that.! He's just not the pope all together, according to Canon Law ~ the invalid Latin declaration document of pope Benedict XVI, and therefore Bergoglio invalid election. Pope Benedict in his declaration and not indeed a full Resignation, resigned from the petrine ministry but took the petrine Monus with him. What most people don't realize, is that the petrine ministry of any pope is not of divine origin, but only the earthly authority to speak on his office has VICAR of Christ.. The Monus on the other hand, or also known as the keys of the kingdom, they're of Divine Origins.! This been said, things get even worse for us Catholics, as to the successor of an invalid pope. For according to Canon law and Catholic dogma, can not be a valid successor over an invalid one. In consequence the next pope, would also be a antipope inevitably... Bergoglio is not the pope, neither the VICAR of Christ on earth. Unfortunately for all of us Catholics, he's nothing more then a HERETIC, an IDOLATER and a TRAITOR OF CHRIST. In pain and tears I must add, that anyone celebrating in communion with such IMPOSTER, HERETIC and IDOLATER, Falls in mortal sin according to God Commandments, the authentic teachings of the Church & Teachings of all Fathers throughout 2000 years of Church history... Regarding Vatican2 is worth saying, was only a Pastoral Council not a Dogmatic one. For this reason could be done away with, considering the failure of the intereligious dialogue like Assisi, which didn't make a single convert.! The word of God tells us, that all other God's are demons... Like Eve was tricked by the dialogue with Satan, so has the Church with the ecumenical dialogue with other religion's.! Many things need to be fixed, but first and foremost the need to declare who's the True pope.!?

Not so funny to joke about those coins that celebrate IDOLATRY 🗿 I warn people, do not even TOUCH those coins ! They are a blasphemy. I am a CATHOLIC first. It is my identity. My ethic background is that I am an indigenous person. When I chose to become Christian, I gave up ALL IDOLATRY. And I pray for other indigenous people to turn away from IDOLATRY and become Christian. Because the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ 🙏

Like everything Pope Francis does, the coins have an ambiguous message. Yes, we need to be responsible for how we treat God’s creation but there is no deity called Mother Earth. With the Pachamama scandal, it could be a problematic symbol.

I am a Protestant and I found this episode very, very interesting. I am at peace with everything, I am no longer anxious about things one can be anxious about (financial, health etc.). Spinoza seems to have said that life is perfect, and now I understand what he meant (sic). Life, once it started can't be stopped, one has to, nay must accept the good, the bad, the ugly, as life presents it. But I have to add that as an octogenarian it's quite easy to be at peace. I am very appreciative of this episode and am looking forward to more of your thought-provoking presentations. God be with you.

I always understood that a pope could be an immoral person - have sexual relationship with someone, abuse alcohol or drugs, struggle personally with agreeing with church teaching But what I didn't expect was for the pope to cause confusion over what the Church actually teaches. His job is to clarify. It's unsettling. I do not know how to defend him, although I have tried repeatedly.

I found this to be most generous and loving! I also think it was absolutely fair.. examining both sides. I really feel like come what may, Pope Francis really is coming from a heartfelt place.. be he misguided in some of his actions or no. It’s been a difficult time, very difficult. Taylor Marshall is out line I think he is leading people out of the church. But they didn't address Raymond Arroyo they just criticized his presentation and really didn't address the his points. I don't think he is coming from a heartfelt place he knew about McCarrick before he sent him to China to make the secret China deal the only reason McCarrick still isn't serving is the public found out about him. He still hasn't addressed the dubia cardinals after 4 years. He has refused to meet with Cardinal Zen of China. These are only a few things that point to him being a bad actor.

I did think however, that the analogy of in imperfect father leading his home - that was the first thing somebody said about the pope Francis, in his defence, that I could grasp. (Ps. I'm still protestant atm, but I'm very close to crossing the Tiber, as my persuasions about catholicism have nothing to do with the current pope. The opposite, in many ways I'm struggling with his stance on many things). In many ways I'm in the Fr. Altman / Vigano / Dr Marshall camp on some of the heavy issues facing the church. I feel that those issues, McCarrick, Fr J Martin, Mother-earth, fratelli tutti, etc are more problematic to me than the Marian doctrines.

I appreciated the talk up until the last 10 min. To suggest a voice of reason from Fr. Thomas W. - two years ago his letter (per NCR much like CNN one sided )...Fr. TW accused PF of sinning against the Holy Spirit......really? This is a voice of reason now? We need voices that clean up messes, avoid confusion, be realistic with guiding Catholic faith to lead all souls to heaven. God help us all (in a language we can all understand. Hint....Latin is not helpful today) I am Cathokic because of our Founding Fathers and hard working laity and priests who live out their faith.

27:50- POPE FRANCIS PUBLICLY WORSHIPPED THE IDOLS. He participated in a pagan ceremony on church grounds, set the idols up IN A CHURCH for veneration and publicly apologized when the idols were thrown out of the church. Please EXPLAIN this bizarre behavior???????????
