So sorry to hear that! You should have let us know. You can also check out the coming home network. They are an organization of former protestants, many of whom made the journey alone as well. And they're an entire organization dedicated to helping people like you, supporting you, being there for you, and even giving you the aid you need. So maybe look them up online and even call them if you need. Watch some of the testimonies there for inspiration.

It resonated with me too, but maybe for a different reason. Sadly, neither girl expressed anything about God doing a work of renewal in them and all their sins being gone. I heard them say that they now believe that other things are now equal to God's word (tradition, magisterium) . When you downgrade God's testimony in your heart you have lost the fear of God, the very thing that preserves us. That's why they accepted another gospel so easily.
@OzCrusader6 ай бұрын
@@jeromepopiel388 You hear but don’t understand, see but you are still blind. Catholicism is the First Gospel, the True Gospel. Schismatics who made their own so-called churches are lost in a web of confusion, with thousands upon thousands of sects, claiming to hold the truth and agreeing on nothing. The Catholic Sacred Scriptures hold primacy over all doctrine, while the Magisterium and Sacred Tradition are servants, by interpreting and applying Sacred Scripture. Sadly you are mistaken and did not hear correctly. Nowhere does my Catholic Church claim the Magisterium and Sacred Tradition are above Sacred Scripture. Anti Catholic sources may say make these unsubstantiated claims, but you can look all you like and you won’t find any authentic Catholic document saying this.

Protestants are UTTERLY WRONG for saying the Eucharist is just symbolic. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! The Eucharist is TRULY the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ. The Eucharist is Jesus Himself. So many catholics have been healed spiritually, emotionally, mentally and even physically by receiving the Eucharist in proper disposition. It means the Eucharist is NOT symbolic but LITERAL Body of Christ.

This resonates deeply with me as a former Jehovah's Witness who transitioned to agnosticism before finally embracing Catholicism this Easter Vigil. My childhood faith devoted an incredible amount of time to criticizing the Catholic Church from the pulpit. Now, as a Catholic, I find that not a single moment is spent criticizing others. I appreciate that genuine worship takes place every Sunday, not just Bible studies. I too have a deep love for the Eucharist, and our little adoration chapel!
@CatholicTruthOfficial6 ай бұрын
Amazing! What led you to the Catholic Church coming from such an anti Catholic background?
@cyphonrider6 ай бұрын
@@CatholicTruthOfficial A whole series of things. I had a relative pass away a few years ago, I was agnostic then, and was distraught but not enough to seek God, ironically enough ashes to ashes, dust to dust was in my mind then. Last year, I took a trip to Germany to visit a relative and his GF; honestly it was them AND Octoberfest. Of course I did all the touristy things, sped on the Autobahn, visited castles, and took a trip to Austria. Well, in Austria, we visited the Cathedral in Salzburg. It was the most beautiful building I had ever laid my eyes on. The art was inspirational, the baptismal font was the same font Mozart was baptized in. I was awestruck by the beauty and history and wondered on what could have possessed humans to make such beautiful things. The experience made me yearn for something in my life with deeper roots than what I was accustomed to. Fast forward to the Christmas season, and something in me kept wanting to visit a Catholic church. So, I looked up the nearest one and since Nov-Dec is a bit slow at work, I took the afternoon off to visit. It was somber, dark, only part of the church was lit while the organist practiced Christmas music. I saw the altar, art, Christ on the cross, the stations of the cross, lit candles; it was very solemn and peaceful. I took a minute to browse the missal, and then the hymnal caught my eye. I started flipping through the pages and the first song I landed on was "Stay with me". I thought to myself, now that's funny, that's the same title of the Japanese song by Miki Matsubara, I use it as the ringtone for my wife. I flipped again and landed on "Stand by Me". At that point I was like, okay I get it. I contacted the church office, attended my first Mass (loved the worship), and stayed for RCIA (the people were welcoming and amazing. And the rest, as they say, is history (although there is so much, I could go on about). I have to say, channels like yours, Fr. Mike Schmidt's Catechism in a year, and other apologists like the counsel of Trent, have been incredibly instructive and helpful in supplementing my RCIA classes and catechesis. Your videos on the various heresies are particularly eye-opening and insightful, thanks!

@wadeevans43556 ай бұрын
@@CatholicTruthOfficial in my mid 20s I had a couple years where I struggled with my faith and living my life in Christ. So I finally told myself I had to do better and so I committed to I was going to read the whole NT through once every 3 months for a year and start learning more about the OT. So I did and treated every single verse with the same importance to make sure I understand paragraphs and chapters in context to my best ability. After about 6 months a visiting pastor spoke at our church and he had went over why there is nothing we could do to assist or effect or salvation. He even mention baptism and obedience, as long as we had faith then we basically checked the box and good to go. Well it didn’t sit well with me because I had been studying scripture that says differently, obviously faith was the requirement but in scripture baptism was important, obeisance, love people and treat them well, an so on with physical actions. After that is when I started to look into the earliest Christians and the history. That is where it started. Till that time I had never even heard of an early church father or that we had writings and teachings from then.

@@yonlee6960 Appreciate the response. I ask because I'm the only non-catholic in my entire family [both sides], but the reason why I became protestant was ironically, the same reason for you becoming catholic. I hope you don't mind me picking your brain, and I promise not to judge. What are your reasons for not supporting sola scriptura?
@yonlee69606 ай бұрын
@@fillup901 Appreciate : "promise not to judge" I'm from France, sorry for my english. About me : I was born in a Protestant family. As a teenager, I was responsible for my youth group in my local church, and then I became one of the leader of my church. It was in 2020 (before covid :)) that I discovered Catholic apologetics. I've red catholic apologetics books, and it deeply affected me. Here is the kind of questions that were raised : - why do I believe that the Bible is the word of God ? How can I know that ? - why do I believe what I believe ? Here's quickly what I found : - Bible : the first time I had a Bible, I didn't ask where it came from. I just believe it was the word of God (because it was the church (my church) that told me so) - Teaching : Trinity, Predestination, Once saved always saved, Faith alone... I believe that because it was also the church. My protestant environment was influenced by Calvinism, which is why every pastor and teacher (including myself) preaches these doctrines. So I realized that what I believed was because the church (my protestant environment) had taught me so. When I was a preacher, people also follow me => my interpretation of the Bible. I realized that I could no longer say : "the Bible teaches trinity, the Bible teaches predestination, the Bible says...", because the "real" reason of these teaching was my calvinism environment and my own interpretation. This led me to think about the Bible, authority, right interpretation... Catholic apologetic response was that the Bible comes from the tradition of the Church (Catholic Church) and that the content of christian faith comes from the teaching of the Catholic Church. So I began to believe that without the tradtion of the church, I cannot know with certainty if the Bible is truly the word of God (who is responsible for selecting the right books ?) and what it really teaches. I began to believe that we need an external authority, established by God, to guide us and to tell us what constitutes the word of God (the canon of the Bible). Note : Luther had rejected several books in the Bible at the 16th century I could no longer say : "I believe the Bible is the word of God and that's all I need". Instead, if I receive the Bible, I must also receive the authority that gave it to me => the Catholic Church, the Church that Jesus founded 2000 years ago. That's how my journey began.

PETER as Shepherd and first Pope: Scriptural evidence and the structure of the primitive Church make it absolutely undeniable that Christ chose Peter and that Peter was first among the twelve. Depending on the translation, Peter is mentioned 195 times. The closest is John (the beloved disciple) at just 29 times. The rest even less. Consider: Jesus entered Peter’s house. (Matthew 8:14) Jesus changed Simon's name to Peter. (John 1:42) Jesus gave Peter the keys to the gates of Heaven. (Matthew 16:19) Jesus declared Peter to the the rock. (Matthew 16:18) Jesus made Peter shepherd. (John 21:15-17) Jesus told Peter to strengthen his brothers (Luke 22:32) Jesus paid the Temple tax only for Himself and Peter. (Matthew 17:24-27) Jesus preached from Peter's boat. (Luke 5:3) Jesus told Peter to "Follow me" (John 21:19) Jesus called only Peter to walk on the water. (Matthew 14:29) Jesus predicted Peter's three-fold denial. (Matthew 26:34) Jesus predicted Peter's repentance and three-fold affirmation. (Luke 22:32) Jesus prophesied only Peter's manner of death. (John 21:18-19) Jesus taught Peter forgiveness 70 times 7 times. (Matthew 18:21-22) Jesus spoke only to Peter at Gethsemane. (Mark 14:37) Peter is always listed first of the Apostles. (Matthew 10:2, Luke 6:14, Acts 1:13) Peter was first to confess Jesus as Messiah. (Matthew 16:18) Peter alone spoke at the Transfiguration. (Matthew 17:4, Mark 9:5, Luke 9:33) Peter pointed out the withered fig tree. (Mark 11:21) Peter entered the tomb first - John deferring to him. (Luke 24:12, John 20:3-4)) Peter decided the manner of replacing Judas. (Acts 1:15-26) Peter spoke for the eleven at the Pentecost. (Acts 2:14-36) Peter was released from prison by the Angel. (Acts 12:6-11) Peter spoke for the eleven before the Council. (Acts 4:8-12) Peter held sin bound to Ananias and Sapphira. (Acts 5:1-10) Peter's shadow healed. (Acts 5:15) Peter declared the sin of Simony. (Acts 8:18-23) Peter revealed the salvation of Gentiles to the Church at Jerusalem. (Acts 11:1-18) The Angel told Cornelius to call for Peter. (Acts 10:3-8) The Holy Spirit fell upon the Gentiles as Peter preached to them. (Acts 10:44-45) At the empty tomb, the Angel said, "Go tell His disciples, and Peter." (Mark 16:7) Mary Magdalene ran to tell Peter and the beloved disciple. (John 20:2) The vision of all foods being clean was given only to Peter. (Acts 10:9-16) Peter's words silence the first council in Jerusalem. (Acts 15:7-12) Paul went to Peter to affirm that his Gospel was not in vain. (Galatians 1:18) Peter was given the revelation of the end of the world. (2 Peter 3:10-11) Peter taught that Paul’s words were easily twisted. (2 Peter 3:16) Peter taught that baptism now saves you (1 Peter 3:21) And many other references. One may deny that Peter was primary, but it takes an amazing ignorance or denial of scripture and history to do so.

So many former Protestant theologians and pastors have really helped me out, Dr John Bergsma, Steve Ray, New St Thomas Institute has a great cheat sheet and Keith Nester, he also has The Rosary Crew. Of course there is Dr Scott Hahn. There are so many converts who are brilliant. Praying for your wife’s eyes to open in the name of The Father The Son and The Holy Spirit ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

The statement that struck me, "I felt I was deceived, lied upon". I can't imagine myself surrendering my core beliefs to few men who decided to make their own religion and teaching versus the early church fathers and 1500 years of sacred tradition. If Protestants will just be honest to themselves, there is no reason to stay Protestants even for a minute. It was all based on lies and deceit.

I Was Saved Protestant, Was Protestant For Twenty-Two Years, About, I'm Glad I Was Saved Protestant, Because I wouldn't have Known About God otherwise. Towards the end of my days as a Protestant, my life in Protestantism became so frustrating. I Wanted Unity Among Believers Like they Had In The Book Of Acts, And I couldn't find it. All I could find were people who either didn't Read their Bibles, people who cherry picked what they wanted from The Bible, people worshiping preachers, charismatics who placed their private revelation above The Scripture. One day, in 2019, I Went To my First, Divine Liturgy In The Greek Orthodox Church, but I still had questions, I hadn't made the Decision To Be Orthodox. Then In 2021, I almost died. 2022 Comes Along, I hadn't been to a Divine Liturgy in a while, I Went Back, I wished I Had Converted To Orthodoxy sooner, I Decided, This Is It, I Wanna Be Orthodox. This isn't to bash or hate on anybody who's Catholic. Th reason I Converted To Orthodoxy Was Primarily, I personally Saw More Parallels Between The Church Christ And The Apostles Started In Connection With Orthodoxy rather than with The Catholic Church. But It Seems Like Brian who's Hosting This video and I Certainly Agree On Plenty Of Things even though he's Catholic, And I'm Eastern Orthodox, lol! But I got burnt out by the way Protestantism is doing Church.

Great stuff. I was fully initiated into the Catholic Church this past Easter. My wife however remains a Pentecostal. It will be a long journey to bring her into the Catholic family but I am fully embracing the challenge. I have always been a history nut so when I applied my love of history in investigating which church was legitimate it was clear and concise for me that the Catholic Church was indeed Jesus’. At any rate, great video! If this community has any advice for me regarding my wife please comment here!

I’m going through the same situation. I’m a former oneness Pentecostal who was baptized into the Catholic Church this past Easter. It was studying church history that brought me to Christ’s one true Church. My wife remains a oneness Pentecostal and is extremely anti-Catholic. She actually believes Catholics worship the devil and Mary, and there is nothing I can say to convince her otherwise.

With so many wonderful converts, it must be the fruits of all our rosaries. "The Most Holy Virgin in these last times in which we live has given new efficacy in the recitation of the Holy Rosary. She has given this efficacy to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families … that cannot be solved by the Rosary."

I resonate with this story so much. For me, I was following another religion similar to Manichaeism and it was following the truth that brought me back to the Catholic faith. I remember reading my former teacher say that the figure who dictated Revelation to John was not Jesus, but Melchizedek and I knew that obviously wasn't the truth (he flat out says, "I was dead and I am alive forever"). He had all sorts of weird views about Communion and other teachings in the Bible and it was my following of the truth that led me to realize what I was learning simply wasn't correct. What the early Church believed about the Eucharist, that it was truly Jesus' body and blood, what they believed about apostolic succession, etc. All these things led me to think maybe the Catholic Church is true. And like Zoe and Wendy said in this interview, I didn't know my pursuit of truth would lead me to the Catholic Church, but here I am today.

I’m a cradle Catholic that spent 20 years in the “Non Denominational “ which are effectively Protestant (just hidden). The last Church I attended before I’m pretty sure was Southern Baptist and heard Catholics were different than Christians. Blew my mind someone had the audacity to say that. I’ve noticed the Anti Catholic attitude was strongest at Baptist or Southern Baptist. I am so happy to return to the Catholic Church!

God Bless you dear ladies. I am a revert to the Catholic Church. I grew up in England. The Church of England. Always loved history.I married a young man in the U.S. Air Force. His Mum and Dad were strict Methodists. They were not very kind to me. I lived with them while he served in Vietnam. After he came home from Vietnam we lived with his parents about a year and half so we could save money to buy a house. When we moved into our own house, I joined the Episcopal Church. Lots of lovely Catholics in Northeastern Pa. That how I first joined the Catholic Church in 1978. We went through a divorce after about 17 yrs of marriage. I did put in for an annulment. Unfortunately it must have got lost in the mail. Then in 1989 I married my second husband. Civil marriage. We were also married for about 17 yrs. We got divorced. I have been single now all these yrs. I left the Catholic Church for about 19yrs. I became a crazy J.W. Worst mistake of my life. Started to do research in about 2013. Also watching EWTN. The Journey Home. 2014 I returned home to the Catholic Church.

One great book I read about the early Church Four Witnesses by Rob Bennet. Also your Great program I found on my iPad. Thank you so much. Love from Diane.

they have such a similar story to me in my journey, especially reading the early church fathers about a year and seven months ago! the Eucharist and baby baptism sealed the deal for me! I’m so grateful for channels like this, but can’t help but think that if KZbin were actually available 25 years ago I probably would’ve never left Catholicism for Protestantism

It's interesting to hear that one of them was being warned against saying the Our Father at her Protestant church. Even more interesting is the irony that the same warning was one thing that eventually led her into the Catholic Church. It almost seems as if that Protestant church had been better off not trying to keep her away from the Catholic Church.
@havefaithlikeachildk33002 ай бұрын
This is true in our country. And I was like in my thoughts, “I wonder what is Jesus going to say on that?” He teaches the prayer and suddenly they are offended when they hear this prayer.. and all of that..that is why when I learned something about God. I always take the Humble Mind before I judge anything regarding the bible and the Catholic Church cause without it there will be a lot of confusion. It’s kinda scary that the enemy is using the tactic he did in the temptation of the Lord “about quoting scripture” and manipulate it in something that it is not.
