Honestly the best version of Minecraft. I remember playing with my siblings, building on this mc superflat worlds for 3 years before my brother got a new computer. I wish Minecraft would update the legacy edition again, because I think it is just honestly better than bedrock.

Thank you so much, i missed this edition like crazy. For like 2 years now i havent had this button. I tried so many methods, but i was kinda scared to delete any files or changing some settings. Today i just said to myself that i would just give this one a shot and it worked! Whats interesting is that i didnt delete any worlds, just 2 bedrock setting files. I FINNALY GOT THE BUTTON. @@alilkittyx3 I lost the edition button yesterday… so after watching this video; I was able to get the edition button back… even on the ps5… I uninstalled minecraft from the ps5 and deleted the save data stored on the ps5 and also the worlds/save data from my ps plus cloud (Ik the step says to save the worlds to your cloud but I used the usb step) so then I followed this video step by step and Thank God🙏 I got it back😇after seeing the edition button back, I installed minecraft again on the ps5…

This was my method I discovered but with recent changes in my life, I couldn’t make the video. For awhile I felt a burden as if it were necessary after reading all of the comments, but thanks man, now that I know someone already is helping people out I no longer feel like I am required to make a video over it.

I have one save file for Minecraft from December 7th 2019 and that was 3 days before bedrock came out on PS4 yet I still don’t have the editions button. It even says it’s from “Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition”

I can actually leave the second activated, but activating the main one with bedrock ahain breaks it

Great video. I discovered the same solution early 2020 when I wanted to earn 100% of the trophies. The additional challenge I faced is that I own the digital version of minecraft bedrock on my main account and had never played the old edition. The difference to your solution was that I had to launch the game on a newly created profile, start one of the mini games and then switch to my main profile to join as a 2nd player (a 2nd controller would probably have worked as well). That way I was finally able to earn the missing trophies. It took a lot of trial and error to find and I had bought the game a total of 3 times (digital and both the new and old physical version) until I got it working, but looking back, it made the trophy hunting experience much more memorable.

If you delete the worlds on your other accounts it will lose them yeah, however if you only delete the worlds on your account & back them up it should be fine! :D

Thank you soooooo much for making this video. I was facing an "impossible" situation where I could get the editions button on an alt account but couldn't sign into my Microsoft account because it was linked to a different playstation account. The net result is I've been able to get a custom super flat convert it to 1.19 and on to a platform I can actually reverse engineer the level.dat. The plan is to create some sort of website so people can configure a custom super flat and get a mcworld file that will work in modern versions of bedrock.

Yes, usually that's due to you immediately pressing the button as soon as you've loaded into Bedrock which overwhelms the stupid game & causes it to crash haha. I'd suggest trying to give Bedrock at least a moment to load & sign into your Microsoft account before pressing the button, hopefully that helps. :)

I know this sounds very complicated, but do you think we could rip a legacy edition disc for ps3/ps4? I also know that on ps5 (idk about ps4) when you delete minecraft and download it again, it installs it in 2 steps. First the first version (which is legacy), then the bedrock edition. You can cancel the download for bedrock edition. It wont let you play online in the first version though because it wants you to update, which causes you to play bedrock. If theres any way you could make it update, but not update to the latest version, thst would be great

its sad how you have to go and do all these tedious steps to go back to Legacy edition. For someone trying to get 100% trophies for Minecraft it simply is not possible since some of the trophies are "Editions Only". Also the nostalgia factor is such a big part of og Minecraft. I got Minecraft Java edition back in 2014 and on console in 2016 and i would love to just relive those days with the original UI etc.

I played legacy a lot for glide and got pretty good at it. If I do this to get the button back will I still keep all the progress I got like worlds and leaderboard placement? (eg: glide leaderboard placement)

Great questions! If you say turn the console off or go play something else & re-load Minecraft later the Editions button should be there. I did answer your second question in the video also by the way but to answer it again, technically no & yes. If you activate an account other than the one you are playing on & then try loading Minecraft it could potentially make you lose the Editions button again so you'd have to redo all the steps mentioned in the tutorial. However if you activate an account other than the one you are playing on to play a different game other than Minecraft, you'll be alright. Just make sure to deactivate it before re-loading Minecraft, hopefully that helps. :)

@@LoganWatsonn not sure there's much I can say other than all I did was follow the instructions. Deactived my primary PS4 on every single account and deleted Minecraft save data on every single account. Returned to my account and loaded up Minecraft and lo and behold, my button returned. I then copied my Minecraft save data back onto my account and reactivated my primary PS4 on main account that I play Minecraft on. I am extremely ecstatic that I finally found a method that worked :) Also something that I found to be true in this video; if you reactive your primary PS4 on any other accounts than then one you play Minecraft on, it will cause the button to disappear on your main account and you'll then have to repeat the steps again.

Hi ! For my part, I am French, I am on playstation 5 and I did not manage to obtain the edition button by following the steps of your video whereas I have just possessed the game minecraft ps4 edition in French on cd. What makes me think I can never get there is that I already own the minecraft bedrock edition which was purchased from the store in 2021 with my primary PSN profile and would cause my PSN profile and my ps5 console to consistently recognize that it already exists and that the edit menu will not be able to appear in any way. Is it true ? If so, do I need another psn account on my ps5 to solve this problem by having disabled game sharing on all my profiles? If not, what should be done? I would at least simply like to have access to the mini-games of this version. With my main PSN profile, it will be even better. I disabled game shares from all accounts in my profile, made sure there was no data from my other minecraft before reinstalling the cd version of minecraft ps4 edition.

When I did this I kept my worlds on my save data and the button still appeared. I don't think you *need* to delete your worlds, just everything else

I’m on PS5 with digital Minecraft, I’ve tried this and it didn’t work. I looked on your discord and the other methods I cant even try because my PS5 doesn’t take discs and no one I know has editions. What else can I do?

Honestly I’m not sure sorry. If you don’t have a disc drive I have really no other options for you, additionally if you’ve not got a friend you could game share with for the button then I doubt there is much that can be done sorry. :(

I found a tutorial that works on ps5: "How to Get Editions Button on Minecraft PS4 | Best method!" published by MikeyIsBaeYT, you just need to have minecraft ps4 edition in disc. I don't have it yet but I will buy it on internet. I'll try to let you know if it works or not as soon as I can 😉

Thank you very much I finally succeeded and do the 100% trophies !! For those who don't succeed and are only looking to make the trophies like me, here's how I did it. You must have Minecraft PS4 edition (CD version not digital) and follow the steps in the video. In case it doesn't work: 1. Create a new PSN account or use a PSN account that does not have Minecraft digital version (don't forget to deactivate all accounts on the PlayStation). 2. Launch Minecraft and the edition button should appear this time. 3. When you launch the "edition mode" and then online mode, you will be asked to sign in to PSN (which you don't normally have because it's a secondary account). 4. DON'T QUIT THE GAME, add a second controller and log into your main account which has PS+. 5. With your second controller (your main account), go to the settings of your main account and activate account sharing (which you had deactivated). 6. You quickly return to Minecraft with your first controller (secondary account), this time you can access the online mode and make your trophies. It worked with my PS5 while I have the digital Bedrock version of Minecraft on my main account.

You could but most likely wouldn't. I'd recommend just playing the disc version if possible as that is inherently going to work better. :)

@@TheOriginalRoarytbYT it won’t switch between accounts no. You have to start a fresh account and then follow the steps n it’ll work. As long as you don’t restart your game whilst seeing/being in the editions only Minecraft you’ll have it, restarting the game causes you to lose the button and you’ll have to repeat the steps in order to get the button back

No, although if you did that for sure is better! The best way to get the button is by owning the old console edition disc, as that has the old version data on it :)
