💙 I've been out walking I don't do too much talking these days These days These days I seem to think a lot About the things that I forgot to do And all the times I had the chance to I stopped my rambling I don't do too much gambling these days These days These days I seem to think about all the changes Came about my way And I wonder if I'll see another highway I had a lover I don't think I'll risk another these days These days And if I seem to be afraid To live life I've made in song It's just that I've been losing So long I stopped my dreaming I won't do too much scheming these days These days These days I sit on cornerstones Count the time in quarter tones to ten Please don't confront me with my failures I had not forgotten them These days These days These days 💙

Nico and Chan singing together beyond time. This is the magic of music. Thanks guys from Cat Power, I loved this version. Very good indeed. A hug from a Brazilian fellow!

Is that Nico? I didn’t realize it was her.
@renatoaraujinho2 жыл бұрын
@@S543- No, it is just Chan singing Nico Music, its not a remix. As in the album "The Covers Record" its not just a tribute, but a new interpretation.

Cat Power has been a lush voice of love, lament and lullaby for so many years. (This song is also beautiful on The Golden Palominos 1993, purely incredible.)

Too world-weary a set of lyrics to spring from the pen of a 16 year old. Even after Jackson Browne had acquired the life experience to match his words, they sounded better coming from Nico and from now from Cat, whose reflective self-harmonising keeps the song tethered to the doldrums where it belongs.

Gregg Allman did a great version around '74 on his first solo album. Him & Jackson Browne were friends in LA before Gregg's brother called him back to GA for his new band. Very different versions, here & Gregg's, but both really good.

Thaks for bringing Jackson Brown into the picture! Actually Andy Warhol called in on Jackson to play guitar for Nico’s version, what he did and was fully surprise to see a string quartet also backing it up.

@@skipperhooper8688 I'm a big fan of the Velvet Underground & Lou Reed (the very best songwriter out of Long Island, NY), but I've never actually heard Nico's version of the song. Obviously, kudos to Jackson Browne for being a wonderful songwriter, blessed w/ amazing talent, and I'm head over heels in love w/ Chan Marshall (Cat Power) as a human being & the very definition of artist, but Gregg Allman's version is the definitive one. Guess it's kind of like Dylan's w/ All Along the Watchtower... once Hendrix made it his, it was his. Dylan embraced that, & Jackson Browne played some beautiful versions of his song w/ Gregg. To me, that's some beautiful humility right there, & humility is one of the hallmarks of a true artist. Blessings to you, my friend.

@@russellhoward3866 Hey Buddy! Appreciate your words;) I grew up on Long Island, am old enough to have lived through the hippie/folk…Velvet, N.Y.C. punk, new wave &,&,&. In general am inspired how wonderful musical artists re interpret songs, (sometimes more inspiring then the original) Gregg Allman pulls it off I think for his sincere “southern drall” In any case you could easily look up Nico’s interpretation. Yep I’ve been following Cat Power since her beginning, she’s had problems as all of us, She’s now flowering…. Patti Smith is one of her greatest supporters, that says allot. All in all regardless who, we both know when a true artist spins us around, brings tears or joy, or be stunned with amazement!
