I love Catra being the voice of reason, and seeing first hand what kind of reckless insanity the BFS gets up to on a daily basis. Melog! The best emotional support kitty! “I’m sorry. I got angry. It’s something I’m working on.” This is such an important step. Redemption isn’t just switching sides and then all your issues become irrelevant. It’s an everyday process and everyday you have to try not to fall back into old habits. Everyday you have to strive to be better than the old you. Not everyone will forgive you, and that’s okay. Forgiveness isn’t the goal. Self improvement is. Catra saying she’s working on her anger issues and then putting it into practice is so good man. Never trust Shadow Weaver. As a rule of thumb.

I’m so glad you finally got to this episode, because it’s my personal favorite for many reasons. Seeing how the clones aren’t really evil, but were brainwashed into thinking they were doing the right thing, leaves a lot of open interpretation for Hordak, and makes him a far more complex character. Like he is the villain, but also a victim as well. Very compelling story telling in my book. How Glimmer and Bow kinda get revenge on Catra for all the stress she caused them when they kidnapped her/ them genuinely bonding with her. Catra finally getting some form of therapy from…how do you spell their name. Melong.. Catra gets a therapy cat, but the main overall reason why I love this episode so much is this is the episode that finally got me to ship Catra and Adora. Now let me explain. I had two reason for why I didn’t ship them. First I am obvious, so I literally didn’t see the signs for them until season 5. Until then I honestly saw them as sisters. When I finally saw the signs, I got annoyed. I mean I don’t mind them as a couple, but there is something to be said of platonic relationships. I honestly feel that platonic relationships are overlooked in favor of romantic relationships. I mean why can’t two people just be close friends with strong non romantic feelings for each other. (Thank you Bow and Glimmer). I do understand that feelings grow, but still it’s annoying. My second reason is that I saw them as sisters for so long it was hard to change my mind. It happens a lot when I ship two characters together and then later they end up with different people, I’m sitting there whining ‘what about my ship’. So yeah thats why I didn’t see them as a couple, until this episode. Once I saw that smile on Adora’s face after Catra practically wolverines that wall, my immediate thought were “ok I not only ship it, but will freaken RIOT if these two do not kiss at the end of the show. You cannot saw me that smile and no kisses’. Do I riot or not. Find out next time on Shera and the Princesses of power. Thanks to anyone to read this long text. Yayy another huge fan of this ep! You're so right, I love how well written this show is, giving so much presence and depth to characters that we only knew the bare surface about. Hordak is one of my very favorites of the show for sure. Oh wow that's so awesome to hear about your relationship with Catra and Adora's dynamic! I really didn't think about them going the way they are right now after the finale of season 3, even more so during season 4 when they barely saw each other. But yeah, it makes so much sense with the beginning of the show and the subtext of how Adora and Catra have been feeling throughout this whole journey. Hahaha "wolverines that wall", I actually though about doing a Wolvering reference there but backed down during editing for some reason 😂 Yesss I mean, that scene was so unexpectedly cute, and it's such a small moment that it may go unnoticed, but I'm so glad I caught Adora's blushing first time watching. ah yes, the episode where the cat gets a therapy cat. amazing. i love this episode, it's the first one where catra is actually fully involved in the best friends squad dynamic and I LOVE IT! her and adora are reconnecting and they look so cute. and we get to see how she's growing. she's still struggling, but she handles it better. so proud of her.

Your Star Wars-esque intro and the dramatic music outro had me cackling! This episode spoke to me so much... Catra is stepping into a new world, one for which she has ZERO context... while all the baggage of her old worlds clings heavily to her. It's not easy to accept the goofiness and affection, no matter how the soul craves it, when all that is understood is pain. Catra is learning a new language. And Melog is a wonderful translator to help her learn.

i love that you read and reacted to the fic "Don't go" too. You're the first reactor I've seen who did it. Wish it had been an episode of the show, but I'm also glad we got it as a fic because then we get an insight into Catra and Adoras's thoughts too and it really hits different, I got so emotional reading it ahah. I was way late to the "Don't Go" fic train and _still_ damn near cried reading it, even though I wasn't in the immediate throes of the actual show's emotional rollercoaster. It really does feel like it adds some context that makes Catra and Adora's subsequent interactions after the former's rescue feel much more meaningful and, arguably, more real. Of course they would have a private interaction like that where each of them were having those kinds of thoughts: it just makes sense, right! I tried to pick up some points to dive into for my usual detailed comment but... I kept getting distracted by you falling over yourself with giddiness at Catra finally getting a sense of acceptance and peace of mind with her relationships, as well as borderline hyperventilating during the overt flashes of Catradora 🤣 Can't really blame you though, we obviously want the best for our little -war criminal- precious, misunderstood cinnamon roll 😊

Bruh, i been holdin the line for Shadow Weaver this whole time and even if it's mildly discouraging to see her painted as a flat black-and-white power-hungry villain im STILL gunna leave a comment JUST for her. Shadow Weaver is not perfect- in fact, she's incredibly flawed, and she knows that. She's absolutely poc-in-a-small-rural-southern-usa-town coded in her scenes as Light Spinner; the other mages didn't take her seriously and treated her as less-than for seemingly no good reason. She was the only person who looked and dressed like she did. She was the only one who saw the real threat the Horde posed. She was a teacher/mentor and could see that Micah was a prodigy that might just be able to save the world. The spell went wrong because they were interrupted and Micah got cold feet. The spell going wrong irreparably scarred her face and she hides it- not for anyone else, but for herself. She only took the mask off in private, and when she's caught in that vulnerable state she lashes out. She adopted Adora & Catra and raised them as her own; Adora got the Micah treatment because she could see the same potential in that baby from another plane of existence. She said herself that she was hard on Catra because the world is cruel and she wanted to toughen her up- why? Because that's what happened to her as Light Weaver. She was an AWFUL parent, don't get it twisted, but she did her best in her own misguided ways. As a child born to two abusive narcissists who couldn't parent to save their lives, Shadow Weaver at least tried.

I actually feel she's very well written with a lot of layers and I'll have a lot to say about her in the final videos, cuz she definitely carries a lot of the thematical complexities in a way that makes the show feel very adult and mature. And I'm honestly sorry to hear about your upbringing. Hoping to provide a valuable and civil discussion about her character in the final reaction video to this show. Thank you for your input! I love absolutely everything about Shera, it remains my favorite series of all time, I watched Shera for the first time in 2021 and it continues to have a huge place in my heart to this day. At the time I watched I was 15 years old and I already had suspicions but while watching Shera I started to question my sexuality even more than I already did, I saw for the first time a pure love that fit with what I thought and felt for myself, with main characters and not with side characters, and several other representations, a little time after I finished the 5 seasons I officially discovered myself as a lesbian, like adora and catra. I'm 18 years old now and shera is a very important part of my story. My favorite character is also catra and she is my favorite character in all the existing works, I love and understand her deeply, it's crazy, she also has many types of trauma and so do I, especially in my childhood with my parents and my Mom, I have a fear of abandonment and trust issues, my family being homophobic doesn't help. So I identify with her in many ways, in the way she feels abou all those things, you know? So it's super incredible and comforting for me to see you watching and giving so much value to Catra and all the characters, giving due attention to every detail and emotion, thank you for letting us see your incredible reaction, I can't wait to watch the rest please post as soon as you can

There's this one Entrapdak fanfic called "Behind the Curtain" series. It's on Archive of Our Own and it takes a more non-canon, in depth look at Hordak and Entrapta's relationship, plus added lore of the Fright Zone. It goes as far as S3E3 "Huntara".

I've never experienced an anime with a so high level of quality in writing, actoring, in emotions... that show and especially this final season was a masterpiece. But I still prefer The Dragon Prince which keeps a special place in my heart. Arcane was amazing too. Anyway love u Catra 😻😻

I'm sorry, my focus is on other stuff at the moment for the channel! If I do react to anime, it would either be for a secondary channel or exclusive Patreon reactions, depending on copyright issues mostly. I'll keep you guys posted about a decision like that!

I was heavily recommended to read this particular during this point of the show and it honestly adds a lot to it. Didn't feel like a spoiler at all.
