Just a suggestion. ALWAYS carry one or two of those emergency blankets with you. They are small, light weight, and can save your life.

I would have put some of the dry vegetation beneath the blanket, warmed the tin of food and blocked the entrance better. Luckily the sun came out and the 'snowstorm' didn't come to much
