If I remember correctly, I think Thomas Zane cut out the heart of the dark presence when it was using Barbara's body. Did he do the same ritual as those guys? It didn't seem to do much in his case.

What are your specs? Any performance issues? 3. Do you have any plans to play Spider-Man 2? Looking forward to the next episode! I'm loving the True Detective/Hannibal vibes.

1. I did get early access but it doesn't have to do with being EGS affiliate, I just asked Remedy 2. I have a GTX 3080, running "high" preset, ray tracing off, with DLSS on Quality at 1440p (this video is upscaled). Holding 60fps steady so far 3. Yes, but there's too many games coming out atm! I'll circle back to it!

hey @Welonz I was hoping you could tell me how to disable the awful sound for the epic achievemnts, in your video there is none and I can't figure out how to do it, I hate the sudden sound so bad lol

Yeah I wasn't a fan of it either lol. Open the game and then go back out to windows and open volume mixer. The Epic overlay is listed as its own application, so you can disable the sound there

I think, Sam Lake's original idea was to make Max Payne a character of Alan Wake's books. But Remedy lost Max Payne IP to Microsoft so they couldn't use it anymore in RemedyVerse. Thus fictional Alex Casey became a substitute of Max Payne in Wake's books. FBI agent, this Alex Casey, isn't Max though. (possible spoilers below, fans' theories) If Wake is altering reality with his writing, he could've written this person into his latest horror story while trying to escape the Dark Place. Wake did it years ago, probably before events of Control. Alex Casey was mentioned in FBC files as an agent who requested some information about Alan Wake from the FBC. FBC agent pointed out a strange coincidence in names - Wakes' fictional character and a real FBI agent who made a request.

Other wise you are right that Casey is pretty much a substitute to Payne. Quantum Brake on the other hand is a Microsoft IP and the reason why that is not officially connected either.

Looks interesting. Shame about the intuition, though. Sounds more than something magically gifted to Saga, rather a strength of Saga herself (even though the game tries to attribute it to her, it's just a bit too far fetched). And I kind of feel like they're skipping over the amount of time passed between disappearances and corpses turning up. We'll see if the story holds up or unravels. For the moment the story look like as a worthy successor.

Phew, had to wait a bit to watch this. Started playing the game myself. Also had Casey be stuck at the same climb at the end there, hehe (but down at the bottom, he wouldn't climb. tele-vaulted up to me after a while. Also had a few other bugs. (Physics / Stuck in a menu-change etc.)) So far the game is ok... but a few things seem off somehow. Now to see what is part of changes in the story, changes in the meta-story, bugs, good writing, bad writing... oh, boy...

I really, really don't like this game. The areas are too big, resulting in the player always wandering about aimlessly instead of focusing on the game. It's not an open world game - but it suffers from all the open world problems, while having none of their benefits. Every time, when you have "cleared" a map - usually after a big story reveal - your character will say: "Oh, the flooding has gone back, let's check out the new areas" - so instead of you, the player, getting to follow up on the latest story reveal, you will be forced to backtrack and do some meaningless side-content (in the newly unlocked area), only to get a shitty item that you don't want or need. And speaking of "big reveals" - the endings of each chapter in the 1st game felt like huge story reveals and plot twists - but in this game, there is just a bit of story happening and at seemingly random points the game will say: End of chapter and you wonder: Why? Nothing has happend? Why is this chapter ending here? I have played this game all day today, 8 hours straight - but I feel like I only got 2 hours of actual, "QUALITY" gameplay out of this - the rest was time wasted meandering about without meaning. Also, The parts of the game where you play as Alan wake all feel like a sequel to the sub-par DLCs to the first game - instead of the first game itself - but I won't get into that because spoilers.

@@KirosanaPerkeleIf I have to conciously and actively avoid engaging with the game and it's content, in order to have fun, then that is a legit point of criticism. The way Alan Wake 1 was structured was basically perfect. It was a linear experience with some more open areas here and there where you can go and explore a BIT - and would usually find meaningful rewards for doing so - and then you can go on with the main story. In Alan Wake 2, the side-stuff only ever gives you a bit of ammo or marginal upgrades that don't even make a difference. At the same time, the side-stuff is 50% of the game and not just some pleasant deistractions here and there like in the perfect first game.

However, my point still stands: The player should not have to skip the side content in order to enjoy the game - in fact, they SHOULD feel encouraged to do the side content - and the side content should be made in such a way that doing it is worthwhile and enhances the overwall exp instead of distracting from it. The game is intentionally designed to waste your time. Whenever there is a huge story moment and you are eager to figure out what will happen next, the game is like: Oh, by the way - you just unlocked this huge, new area to explore. The exploration will take 1 hour and as a reward you will get some ammo. Also, if you do this bullshit side-activity, that should not even be in the game, you will get a 1% stat-buff to this and that.
