I reset my P0101 code and cleared it. Everything ran fine afterwards. The engine has set up for several years and just recently began running it. In fact I was getting a series of different codes and reset them all and everything idled fine afterwards. So, I wondering if moisture over a period of time could build up on the sensor, and contacts to different things and just need to use the MAP spray etc., what is your opinion?

Hi. Thank you for the vid. I have a Vauxhall mokka (maybe Opel Mokka across the pond) I've had power/smoking issues for months now. If I need to put my foot down enough for the turbo to kick in (I know nothing about cars...) it will struggle really badly and start smoking from the exhaust really badly. So far, I've had the turbo replaced and it's since passed it's MOT... The issue is some what better, as it doesn't seem to try to stall anymore, but I'm not putting my foot down, as I'm avoiding motorways etc, so difficult to tell how bad the issue still is as I'm terrified of the pushing it and the engine blowing up!. My engine management light now keeps coming on and that's what's brought me to your vid after getting this error code. The car is currently not really fit for purpose.. I feel like this error code is now resulting from the initial problem... Does that make sense and could you possibly shed some light on what the fix could be. Thank you

Before or while changing expensive sensors... 1. Change air filter 2. Clean the throttle butterfly (for fords the idle air control solenoid also) Carbon/dirt deposits can cause the butterfly to not close completely letting in too much air at idle. YMMV

It might be your plug or wiring. Get a multimeter that shows volts and ohms and stop throwing money at problems. Youre just gambling. Check the voltage to the sensor. Check the resistance to ground, check the signal voltage. Check that your new one isn't some AutoZone or O'Reilly's knock off part.

Hello I have a 2020 kia forte. I have code p0101. I replaced the air filter, mass air flow sensor, wiring has volts and looks good. The car runs fine after a few days the code returns. Any idea? Also when I unplug the sensor the car doesn't stall

I have a 2018 nissan kicks and I have replaced the mass sensor 2 x in one year I had a friends obd2 tool mentioned gave the same error code but also mention the issue could be the altinator. I'm gonna see if my car has a vacuum leak next. Thanks l!

Clean the throttle butterfly with throttle body spray as it may not be closing completely and causing a lean condition.

If you replaced your mass air flow sensor and still have that code it could be your throttle body is dirty. clean it or replace it.

Hello Do you know if a bad turbo could cause p0101 codes? Reason I ask is because I have a Fiat 500 1.3 diesel and the car would start and cut out.. I diagnosed it to a bad Maf sensor due to the Maf not reading anything and when disconnected the car would run fine. I then bought a new MAF from ebay and although the car drives fine it throws an engine light after 15 or so miles with the code P0101. I suspect the turbo as the car does give out blue smoke on first start up and I do also feel as if the turbo doesn't kick in like it should (that may just be me expecting too much out of a 1.3😅) that's why I ask if the turbo could be the issue here any ideas?

I think it may. My turbo is leaking some oil , because air intake and intercooler hoses have some excess amount of it. Leaking turbo for sure can interrupt normal maf sensors work.
