Causes When Oil Warning Light Comes ON But Is Full (Oil Dipstick at the Correct Level but Light On)

I got a low oil pressure light breifly about three times in the past year. All three times it suddenly came on and caused my engine to shut off. But my car immediately started back up all three times without that warning light coming on. Between those times I had my sensors replaced twice but it still randomly happened. Otherwise my vehicle drives just fine...What do you make of my specific problem?

Hi, I have a 2014 Buick Encore that I bought in 2019 at a dealership, my first two oil changes were free and had those done with no issues. On my third oil change I took it to Oil Can Henry's and about a week later after I had driven a couple miles and stopped at a traffic light my oil light came on with that dinging sound. I've taken my car to two different Auto Parts stores to have a diagnostic done and at both places it shows nothing. One place recommended a local mechanic so I took it to him. He replaced my oil filter, flushed out my oil with cleaner and put in new oil and let my car sit and run for about 20 mins. There was no oil light or that annoying dinging sound coming on so we thought it was fixed! Yesterday when I drove across town from my house and got to a traffic light to stop it came on again! As soon as I put my foot on the gas to go the light goes off and the dinging sound stops, until I have to stop again! Please tell me what you think it could be!

Well the problem was solved by the mechanic. It was my oil sensor!! No more oil light or annoying dinging sound!! Thankgoodness!😀

@@sheilaaquino1791 for myself it was only $78.00, labor included. I have found a great mechanic. I'm not sure what others may charge.

I overtightened the oil pressure sensor on my vtx 1800 and broke the threads off the housing. Can I do away with sensor and close up the hole? Can't afford a new housing. Any suggestions would help

Why do I have to turn my key on and off to make the low oil light to go off?? My oil pressure is great

Oil Light came on my 2010 Dodge Charger today, but my instrument cluster is faulty because the check engine light comes on & off, and the gas gauge doesn’t read properly after I fill it up.

I have a no crank no start on a 07 Ford Expedition. The oil light beeps and lights up on the dash but the oil level is good. Can I test oil pressure at the sending unit with the vehicle off but in the run position or when cranking?

If the engine does not start, the oil light will likely be on. If the oil light is on when the engine is running that is an issue. If the engine is not cranking, be sure the battery is charged and has good connections. If the engine does not start, it will need to be troubleshooted, mainly for gas and spark.

Corolla 1zz engine shows oil light..... Have replaced the oil pump,clean the oil strainer in the sump,replaced the oil switch,but the oil light is till on with knocking noise around the timing chain area. What do I do again?
