ahhhhhhhhhh i'm so glad you liked sharpener, it hit so hard for a lot of his fans including me. sharpener is actually about self harm though you've probably already heard so before, i find it to be one of his best songs. btw you're not crazy a lot of people have noticed sharpener is almost like a throwback to some of his older songs and is different than some stuff he normally does though i wouldn't mistake it for anything other than robbie's music haha

The song sharpeners calling me again is abt self harm and how hard it can be to just be ur self infront of others and fit in at the same time so the person in the song moves onto self harm to try help but it doesn't work and near the end that's the persons self conscious telling him that it's not working but they can't help but carry on bc all they want to do is fit in but yet again they can't be themselves Infront of others bc they're afraid of being judged by others and looked down apon

Hi mat just wanna say if you didn't know the songs about sh (why he talks about drawing on his skin in the beginning) and I'm pretty sure the shadow represents depression and it follows him around and eventually pulls him underwater so he's trapped and seems to accept that it's there. He also hates on himself a lot if you read the lyrics and he says the sharpener was his escape. Just wanted to say that cause you didn't talk about the lyric meaning in the video so I thought it would be a cool thing to note and because it's got a really sad theme to it don't feel bad about being emotional listening to it, it's a really sad song :) hope whoever's reading this has a good day btw
