Sounds about right, they suck the first time

The Honda service manual for this model and the Honda common service manual are both available online, between them you can see how to sync the carbs...

Just in case anyone else needs the info: If the carb tuner is jumping around on the readings then you need to flip the hoses around and put the connectors at a different distance between the tuner and engine. This smooths out the air pull. I think they mention this in the instructions.

Thanks Adam, I think back then was my first time using that system, was a bit rushed by the time it was night too. Far from ideal.

Did the balancing sort out the dead cylinder?

You tackled the wrong screws on carb clamp. Shoulda went for the lower side from below not the upper.
@DeanAllen2 жыл бұрын
Fair enough, you live, you learn, I remember that for next time, sure another will find its way back to me. Thanks....
@Thegascolt2 жыл бұрын
Those carb clamps are meant to be flipped the other way it’s not meant to be anywhere near as hard as you’ve had. Someone’s been in before and made the job 10x harder for them
@DeanAllen2 жыл бұрын
Well spotted, I never had the privilege of knowing at the time, and as you say it was a NIGHTMARE for me 1st time trying. Its a good tip on your part too, so no one else makes the error of putting back the wrong way.

Where did you get that blanking screw Deano? There was a little brass nipple on mine leaking loads of air in, the rubber cap is silly money from Germany! What size is that bolt?
@CBR6002 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the video Deano , why oh why did they make it so hard to balance the carbs when they built the bike ??. How did you cap the hoses when you left them on the bike ?. I’m kicking myself because I have just had the carbs off for new jets and could of done the hoses then !!😭.
@DeanAllen2 жыл бұрын
Screwed in 6mm ( I think, perhaps 4 mm) machine threaded bolts/ screws, then taped over ends just to be sure. You can use anything that plugs the tube, and will not fall out, or get drawn into the tubes.

Hello how are you. A question. How did you get the RPM to remain stable? I hope you can help me because CBR f3 I can't remove these variations

Can someone help???? I have a 1996 cbr600f3 and it keeps falling on its face last 7k rpm in low gears like 1-3 it’ll take off strong and then last 7k it’ll jerk almost like it’s getting power and then falls on its face and then gets power right after. In higher gears 4-6 it just falls on its face. Could It be somthing electrical or carbs?
@multikayakaya5 ай бұрын
This may be a late answer, but I had the same problem as you’ve described and it turned out to be the air solenoid that was bad. I bypassed it and now it runs great.
@TheATFcanSuckmyDicc5 ай бұрын
@@multikayakaya not a late response at all, I’m actually working on it rn (it’s been in storage for winter) I’ll definitely look into that, thanks!
@multikayakaya5 ай бұрын
@@TheATFcanSuckmyDicc Alright, let me know how it goes! It could also be the carburetors that needs cleaning but if you’ve done that, I would suggest trying the delete, there is a few guides online!
@TheATFcanSuckmyDicc5 ай бұрын
@@multikayakaya yea I actually took the carbs off yesterday, the jets are pretty clean. The pilot jet had mild gunk, just enough to where I could blow it out with my mouth. My theory is either what you just told me, or maybe the carbs are out of sync. I appreciate the help, I’m good with bikes when it comes to dirtbikes and fourwheelers , and old school muscle bikes but these newer sport bikes with all their sensors are beyond my knowledge lol
@multikayakaya5 ай бұрын
@@TheATFcanSuckmyDicc Ah okay, same with me, the carbs were spotless, so this was my last hope and it worked. Apparently if there is something wrong with the solenoid it won’t give you enough air at higher speeds.

You dont need to remove the carbs off the bike....to balance the carbs...
@DeanAllen3 ай бұрын
Couldn't agree with you more, in fact, it is impossible to balance the carbs with a vacuum gauge if they are not on the bike, it has to be running.

honestly I felt this was almost a useless video. you showed no balancing. no showing it running smoother afterwards. nothing to where you hooked the balancing tool to.
@DeanAllen Жыл бұрын
I know, if I had the bike, I would have continued the vid, it was done way back when I only just started doing, and as you saw, ran out of time and light. Trust me I have thought the same. However u like yourself many have still found this of use and value, and given me many likes and positive feedback. I put it on to help other where I could a long time ago, so take from it what you will..... What is your constructive criticism ?

Think you are missing the point mate.....I have now balanced the carbs on the YZF, the XJR and the VFR. Once you learn how to do one, the rest follow. Paying someone else, means you never learn, and you pay forevermore more.
