I never noticed how when Kirk first enters, he clearly doesn't recognize the cloaking device then he mentions it to the guard and gets the guard to glance right at it. I need to rewatch this whole series :)

Back in the early 90's, the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D. C. had a Star Trek exhibit that showed a lot of the props actually used in the series. They had one of the space suits from "The Tholian Web," they had the actual console the Chekov and Sulu sat behind (just for the record, it was made of wood, and it was delaminating.) they had a few models of the Klingon and Romulan ships, and they had the actual dress that JoAnne Linville was wearing in this episode.

Tarawa Man Quite a few times Spock got a good looking chic, sometimes 2 together at the same time. Leonard Nimoy couldn't help but to grin in some of those scenes. He knew his character Spock had it going - Spock was the main man! In an episode of star Trek the next generation; Q wanted to repay Picard and everyone one the bridge for helping him to become immortal again. He tried giving Ryker 2 REALLY good looking women and a cigar. Ryker refused, so Q zapped the women over to Worf. Wow, Q & i can be friends! Another thing: i think that Q & i think much alike.

@Daniel Appleton The episode to in which you are refering to is All Our Yesterdays. Know the episode all to well. It goes into the fact and information of how the Vulcsn race itself were all savages before Surak's teachings becsme standard to unite all the Vulcsn people, those who choose to WANT to be united. Others who choose to continue to want to be savages, were removed by the alien race called The Preservers who transfered them to the Romulus Remus section of the galaxy whare they could form a different way of culture, which was brought out in the third season episode of Star Trek, The Immunity Syndrome when Spock began studying the Obolisk intensely and understanding its content.

It's always Balance Of Terror. Don't get me wrong, that is a top tier episode. One of the best, in fact. However, this episode does not get the full appreciation it deserves. An undercover mission to steal the cloaking device from the Romulans...perfection. it's as treacherous as the Romulans themselves! Kirk becoming one, plus the deceptive romanticism between Spock and the Romulan commander. A top ten TOS episode as far as I'm concerned!
