@@arielsea9087 It's the same way across the whole country. MA is just more accountable than most areas. People actually care about that sort of thing there. In red states the same things happen but it gets swept under the carpet more easily. It's groupthink and cronyism that creates a subculture of corruption and abuse of power. You should listen to Beau of the Fifth some time, who once trained officers in Florida. When one of them said to him, "but.... we write the reports" and the other cops nodded along, that's when he decided to stop training cops. The corruption is fairly out in the open. I mean, who's gonna tell em they can't do that? Other cops? Pfffffft. Who watches the watchers indeed.

They probably trained Proctor on how to write derogatory texts about a suspect to other officers while he is investigating a suspect. Its an important skill. Make your feelings known and expose your emotions and personal bias to your brothers so they also hide evidence and persecute suspects you don’t like.

I have personally spoken to several retired police officers and this corrupt system of police training is EXACTLY the problem with Chicago police, as well as police in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The worst cops have friends in police management that will hire those officers unfit for duty or forced to retire as instructors. Why worry about a single bad apple or two, when the tree is poisoned from the roots up.

QI should be very rare in only used in very particular circumstances. The way it is now they can violate rights and all long as there isn't a car that fits the facts almost identically then they can't be sued civilly, but that means that they get the immunity and it doesn't go to court and no precedent gets set so next time the exact same thing happens they also get immunity since there's no case because the last case got immunity. It's circular and nonsense. It's not even law, it was just a ruling by a court to protect their bloodhounds since most judges and prosecutors are just as corrupt as police and see the citizenry as cattle to be fined and leeched off of.

Simple, make the instructors pay for all the lawsuits- personally. If they have kids, put them in foster care until they get a different job, pay all lawsuits in full, and have the victims /and families sign off on approval to have the kids returned. Interesting obviously but…. I’d really like a inside investigation about: What it takes to Pass a training academy for certification. Are there tests with minimum scores to pass? (Since the academy receives money to train, do they ‘pass’ all tests?) Is a set amount of attendance required? (Or is it simply that if you sign up, you will pass?) Too often PDs have given the excuse that an officer is ‘still in training’. Referring to on the job training. But that should be fine tuning training the rookie has already received at the academy. Training that seems impossible in the ridiculously short 6 months academy time. But not truly surprising considering that law enforcement endorses cops as ‘Expert’ at ______, because the cop participated in a 2 hr course to be certified an ‘Expert _____’ (like expert DUI investigator, expert speed enforcer, etc).
