Actually after his loss to Ali he went into a dark place. Just came from a vid by The Modern Martial Artist. Search the night Foreman faced 5 men by The Modern Martial Artist and you'll see. But it is very respectable that he brought himself back and learned from his mistakes. The more mistakes you make, the more potentially wise you become. Potentially because some people just stay bitter but those who can forgive themselves and others come out wiser

It was a brilliant answer but the question wasn't dumb. The "rope-a-dope" is probably in the webster dictionary and no one really is born with the ambition to be tied to that. He had to grow beyond that and understand his story and the lessons of his story in order to communicate his larger live lessons. Not everybody woulda been able to get past that, much less befriend the guy who humbled you. That was the genesis of the question, I think.

Foreman was right. Ali's presence was highly special. I had the honor of talking with him in 1979 backstage at the LA Forum for 35 minutes. I had built a prop for that TV show. Ali cared more about discussing that instead of discussing his boxing career history.

5:00 "if you beat me up like he did, I'd be your friend too." Wow, Foreman is a true champ. Full of humility, totally devoid of hate. They don't make em like that any more.

I always forget how much of a damn warrior George Foreman was... seeing his old photos... he was as scary as Tyson in his prime. Guy is humble, and was a BEAST.

George will not be repeated in boxing world, he is very polite, humble, and have the spirit of joking. All respect to you and to Mohammed Ali.

Although his face is fierce and violent when he is in the boxing ring and certainly many opponents are afraid when they want to face him, but outside the ring, George Foreman is actually a gentle and kind person who easily smiles and gets along with friends, especially if we know him more closely. He is a large man who always thinks big and broad when he is with his friends. He is also very careful and polite if he wants to let go of his words". May our Uncle George always be in the best of health, Champ.
