From TSA to ground crew, all of them are to be blamed for this breach of security. The ground crew(GC) and pilot do a 360° walk of the aircraft within 10mins after arrival. The departing pilot usually does his own 360° before boarding. However, the GC does the final 360° walk after loading the bags and pulling all equipment from the aircraft. And we all know a lot can happen in a minute, then what about 10? So the hideout very well happened AFTER the "departure" pilot did his 360° because GC basically walks around, not thoroughly. The Pilots are usually the ones that bend down and look in all those little places, they do a thorough check around the aircraft, not GC. So I conclude that it happened after the pilot's 360°. GC and all other Securities are to blame.

Since they won't say, I figured it was a couple of white guys from Salt Lake.
@lorithompson9166Күн бұрын
@ i was thinking since they hadn’t said anything that it was likely two black guys who made it from Jamaica through La Guardia to Fort Lauderdale. 😆
@skyhawk_4526Күн бұрын
Yup. Almost certain. It would have been the easiest place since the security is likely less than in the US and the plane "started its day" there and was probably parked and unattended overnight.
@d.n.8919Күн бұрын
Yes, Jamaican security is likely not as robust as the U.S.

@737driver8Күн бұрын
If thats correct, also means a lot of people missed checks. Jamaica to New York to Salt Lake back to New York then to Ft Lauderdale.
@skyhawk_4526Күн бұрын
@@737driver8 Yup. There were multiple failures. Airport security measures failed (almost certainly overnight in Kingston Jamaica), but also the ground handling crews and the captain or first officer who performed the exterior preflight inspections (on the first flight as well as the subsequent flights).

i was gonna say Carry-on in Netflix but yes very similar method where Arnold jumps out of the plane from the landing gear and not going in on the plane…in Afghanistan, 4 years ago before the Taliban take hold the entire airport. this was done as well, clinging to landing gears… if these were ground crew, they know better…there are some who would take a nap in the cargo hold but not in the landing gear.

At least they didn't fall out when they deployed the gear for landing and squish someone's house or car. Could've been worse. Sorry to them for not knowing there's no air up there and it's cold.

Could be ground crew in Jamaica…..?
@skyhawk_4526Күн бұрын
Unknown, but Jamaica is most likely where they got on. The "plane started its day" there means it was most likely parked overnight there, and there would be times it was completely unattended. FAA and every airline should put out a bulletin requiring enhanced preflight inspections of the landing gear bays. If two people can smuggle themselves into the landing gear bays undetected, then one person could even more easily smuggle a bomb into the landing gear bay undetected.
@wolfsisterhowlsКүн бұрын
Possibly. Last week a flight from Chicago to Hawaii had stowaways, so by that logic ground crew in Chicago?

This happens every year. I rarely hear of anyone surviving that experience. It sounds like the tarmac security and inspections are open to planes being tampered with in a terrorist attempt.

Just as likely to be American citizens to be fair, last week the stowaways were from Chicago and LEAVING to Hawaii
@erauprcwaКүн бұрын
This happened right before the last flight before they were found. It's not hard to figure out. A preflight inspection happens before every flight. If they weren't found prior to the other flights, they snuck in before the last flight departed.

You would be surprised, how little space there is in an aircraft wheel well. Most wheel wells I've seen, during a gear retraction, with the gear doors off, there's about maybe about 8" of space around the struts and tires.
@davewitter6565Күн бұрын
You could hide under a fuel, catering, lavatory, baggage bin off sight. The pilots do a walk around before every takeoff. I am surprised they are crushed when the landing gear retracts after takeoff.
